who?

Thompson always seemed like more of a wide-stance catcher than a pitcher to me.

You know who should run for President?

So this means he'll be away for two hours a day instead of one? He'll be upset when he realizes this interferes with his 4:30pm dinner at Big Boy

I didn't know whether or not he was still running before seeing this. I'm still not sure.

dittybopper: You know who should run for President?

Heh.

Nitpick: should be .06, not '06, though.

Gosh, I think Fred Thompson would make a really good President of the United States of America. Great, even.

No, wait...No I don't. Nor does anyone else. Why is he running again?

Incorrect. It's ".30'06" because it is .30 caliber, adopted in 1906.

Don't *EVER* try to out-gun geek me.

Allow me to correct myself: It can be either .30'06, or .30-06, but it is *NEVER* .30.06.

The purist in me favors the .30'06 nomenclature, because it unambiguously designates the last two digits as a year. This sets it apart from other calibers like .30-30 (.30" caliber bullet, 30 grains of powder), .45-70 (.45" caliber bullet, 70 grains of powder).

It also differentiates from 'derived' calibers like 7mm-08, a .308 Winchester necked down to 7mm, the name being a contraction of 7mm and .308.

In more Fred Thompson news-yes, he really is as lazy as people say he is:

My bet is, he's along for the exposure. That way, whoever gets the R nomination can have Zombie Fred as a VP. The GOP likes that whole gravitas thing.
Worked out great for you last time, ya farkwads.

Don't feel bad. Hell, I've commented on stuff, and been wrong.

Just not about guns, though.

When I was a baby, my bottle was an old powder horn with a nipple slapped on it.

Please, have a Merry Christmas, Happy Chanukah, Groovy Kwanzaa, and a Happy New Year.

Well, the video does match exactly what the reporter said happened, even if the shot of Dukakis in the tank explains his thinking.

But the laziness isn't in the hat, it's in the "wouldn't walk the four blocks to stop and shake voters hands between the newspaper and the fire station" bit.
