lol

I think the mighty Zeppelin, if they were to go on tour, could easily out earn the police.

Zep is going on tour. They're the opening act for the Hannah Montana tour.

I'd rake in $212 million too if my cheapest ticket was $75.

You mean music artists can actually make a living by working and going on tour instead of relying entirely on royalties from some hit 30 years ago?

Andy Summers and Stewart Copeland get 50 bucks per show and a buffet coupon.

/Saw them in Toronto in July, fantastic.

the police are amazing musicians
you get your money's worth seeing them

as opposed to paying the same or more to see chicks lip-synching.

saw them for two police picnics, one with the talking heads
the other with peter tosh

they can light up a stadium with energy and passion
apparently still do

I saw them at all three Police Picnics in Toronto.

The second one with the Police, Talking Heads and the English Beat was one of the best shows and line ups I've ever seen. I was the guy with the big "I Love Real Rock'n'Roll, Joan Jett Sucks" banner. Her management came out into the crowd and tried to stare me down. Not much there were going to do with me holding an 8 foot 2X2 piece of timber in my hand for the banner. It nearly caused a riot.

I hate to say it, but Talking Heads (9 piece band with Bernie Worrel, Nona Hendryx) were better than the Police. Stewart Copeland is one of the all time great drummers, but he was always rushing the beat. I blame the columbian connections.

Saw them in Boston back in November. It was a combination Christmas/Birthday present from my wife. She paid for the entire trip--plane tickets, hotel, memorabilia, food. The only thing I paid for the whole trip was the beer we drank at the airport on the way back home.

But that's always been part of his allure.

But all that money is slowed down and in a key 4 steps below the original.

Stewart and Andy both looked like shiat in Boston. Andy can't run around stage anymore, but he can stand still and play the hell out of his guitar. Stewart Copeland completely stole the whole show during "Wrapped Around Your Finger." It was amazing.

It has cost me $500 for two tickets for the show coming up in January down under. Still, I am going to be close enough to shake Stewart's hand during the show.
