I came home from a law school exam one night feeling really low. I was sure I'd failed the damn thing and was lamenting all the work down the drain etc. Then I watched that documentary and suddenly I didn't feel so bad about myself.

I remember when the Pogues played SNL in 1990 or thereabouts. When Weekend Update came on after their first number, Dennis Miller's Weeners was, "Y'know, the Pogues are great, but I'm a sucker for lyrics."

I'm a huge Pogues fan but the thing I love most about Shane MacGowan is that I win bets all the time on whether he's still alive or not.
