Hey, what about Joe Biden? Oh, that's right, we don't want someone with foreign policy experience.

It took me forever to figure out who John Edwards reminds me of, but then I finally remembered Ewan McGregor's portrayal of Zip Martin in Down With Love.

What exactly is supposed to be "hypocritical" about being rich while advocating policies to help the poor and middle class?

Are rich people supposed to be callous bastards who don't give a shiat about anyone else?

I guess in that regard, none of the Republican candidates could ever be accused of being "hypocritical".

Another Edwards thread doomed to failure!

Get over it, ALL of the candidates are wealthy. It annoys me to see John Edwards constantly maligned for it.

Okay, how 'bout this: John Edwards is a genuinely unlikeable person.

The Neighbors don't like him
He was on his way to losing re-election to the Senate when he left in 2004 to run for VP (Prolly the only righteous move he's ever made.)
Businesses around his headquarters would like for him to move.
His wife is no better (and in some ways worse).

His arguments don't stand up to much intellectual scrutiny.
And, Hillary notwithstanding, he is the biggest political opportunist in the race.

I hope he DOES get the nomination (fat-to-slim chance). As tin-eared as he is politically, the Republicans could save a fortune on advertising after he shoots himself in the foot 10 times in the first week-and-a-half. Then the RNC would quit asking me for money.

There. How's that?
