You are un-American, submitter. If you don't love your phone
records being open to scrutiny and support water boarding then you,
my-friend, hate freedom.

Bush's Presidential Library will be rows and rows of clear trash bags full of shredded documents.

Asshat.

The more you need to cover up, the more you shred.

/Surprised it's only 600%.

You'd think people disagreed with the Bush Administration.

FlashHarry [TotalFark] 2007-12-14 08:10:05 PM
wait until the election. they need to have a putin-style handpicked surrogate installed as president to keep from going to jail. if not, the next administration will see all the shiat that's been swept under the rug for the past eight years.

if (when?) a democrat or and actual conservative (meaning "honest") republican wins next november, expect to either have a 24/7 shredding service parked out front or an "accidental" fire at the white house that destroys all documents.

mark my words.

most. corrupt. administration. evAr.

UNC_Samurai: You'd think people disagreed with the Bush Administration.

You'd think the Bush Administration disagreed with the founding fathers.

Shaggy_C 2007-12-14 08:50:34 PM
It doesn't say that they shredded 600% more, only that they spent 600% more.

Halliburton Shredding Service Inc. doesn't come cheap!

maxheck 2007-12-14 08:54:56 PM
Huh... There was a time when the government was supposed to be something that worked for you, not the other way around.

Oh well.

Aarontology [TotalFark] 2007-12-14 08:56:47 PM
It was actually spent on securing the country's best psychics to keep the ghosts of the Founding Fathers at bay while they shredded the Constitution.

Deneb81 2007-12-14 08:57:27 PM
I don't think anyone in the Democratic Party or that worked for the Clintons had pants big enough to hide this many documents.

So no, the But Clinton doesn't work there.

Feel free to bash Hillary over the not releasing documents during the election crap though. She's a biatch.

Krymore 2007-12-14 09:23:05 PM
What did our Founding Fathers fight and die for if not the freedom for our beloved executive branch to commit acts of questionable legality in the name of national security, and the right to destroy incriminating evidence?

xxdangerbobxx 2007-12-14 09:32:47 PM
Wait, what? How in the hell do they even know that? Is this some random number pulled out of someone's ass? Maybe they added up the shredders private electricity bill and compared it with previous ones (it's funny because it doesn't exist)? Or are they actually implying that they outsourced documents to some random and evil corporate entity that they needed shredded. Because apparently they couldn't figure out how to turn on the shredder themselves. As we all know, if you need something shredded to stay out of jail, you should always outsource it to someone else rather than just doing it yourself. This doesn't even make a tiny bit of sense.

RTFA

xxdangerbobxx 2007-12-14 09:40:25 PM
I did RTFA. Then I followed the link from the article to the site they apparently obtained their information from, from there its a bit of a mystery. Or maybe we should just believe that great graph that they made? Ok then.

daychilde [TotalFark] 2007-12-14 09:50:16 PM
Deneb81: So no, the But Clinton doesn't work there.

Bu-bu-bu-but-Clinton only shredded 1/6th as much! (based on cost, at least)

Yup. Still works. ;-)

xxdangerbobxx 2007-12-14 09:50:21 PM
Unless of course you think that the administration is in charge of what the IRS and the Department of Vetrans Affairs shreds. Because that is included in the graph copied from the Federal site they linked to. I fail to understand what one has to do with the other (besides the knee jerk reaction to bash how incompetent the administration is).

That's pretty much guaranteed.

Oh, wait, are you one of those folks who still believe that the people choose the president?

kregh99 2007-12-14 10:11:51 PM
That's not all that is going to the shredder.

Sooner or later, justice will be served.

The summary page for paper shredding (new window)

It even has the original of "that great graph that they made"

sage37 2007-12-15 02:27:22 AM
Seriously people, follow the link in post #1.

Top shredders (spanning 7 yrs):
IRS $5.5m
Army $1.3m
Navy $1m
Secret Service $700k
Veterans Affairs $700k

Are you just so stupid as to blame the current retarded administration for what the IRS does? Which is included in the graph.

Perhaps you are just so stupid as to lump in Veterans Affairs into that group as well. They are also included in the graph.

While I am not in any way supportive of the Bush / Cheney administration, I am not quite the retarded piece of shiat that you are when it comes to other government agencies.

Again, all this is included in the original dumb misleading headline. How are your old W4 forms being shredded a bad thing?

You must really be kidding or are else mentally retarded.
