I never did like that d@mn "Do they know it's Christmas" for 2 reasons. Reason 1: It SUCKS Reason 2: No, they don't know it's Christmas because many of the worlds poor aren't Christians and even if they did know it was Christmas time they wouldn't care, they'd prefer to get food donations all year long.

Another blog in the same paper (new window) lists Madonna at #5 in the best list, and Band Aid as the worst.

Put me on the list of people who can't stand any version of "Santa Baby." I like Eartha Kitt, but that's the most overrated holiday song in life.

The Pretenders' "200 Miles" is a gift-wrapped package full of win.

I don't remember where I saw it, but I once read something about Macca's "Wonderful Christmastime" being tied to something like 200 suicides in Japan one year. There seemed to be something about that song that made people reach for the fillet knife, the article said. I like Paul, but that shiat sucks. Better than Rudolph the Rednosed Reggae, I guess.

Voting should be enabled. Fairytale of New York was the first Pouges song I'd ever heard and it was one of those jaw-dropping moments.

Sorry - I would put The Waitresses before Live Aid. Much better song for the holidays. (Boy George did have an amazing voice on that one though didn't he!)
