Never heard of him.

The same thing happened to Charlie Parker.

That video sucked... I was hoping to catch the guy wasted and stumbling over himself. Instead it's just him breaking ground with Dolly.

Ouch! I expected this to be a case where someone with the same name was banned from a theater. But no, it was the actual person. That's some serious rejection right there.

Now THAT'S how you build a city on rock and roll.

Then make the theatre change its name.

the country music singer has violated a contract clause requiring him to "perform in a professional manner."

He said a visibly impaired Parton has had to be escorted out of the theater and carried home several times, including on Thursday

ummm... isn't that what "professionals" do...drink.

Visibly impaired. Can't see his feet, just like his sister.

Boy, given the media coverage this story is (finally) getting, I can't believe that's all that's being offered here.

WRAL's interview with ol' Randy here ^

The N&O finally gets around to noticing the scandal ^

But the Carolina Journal has followed this for ages ^

Short form: How to waste millions of dollars of the taxpayer's money by giving it to some backwoods buffoon. It's all there: the sweetheart deals, the attempts to hide the paperwork, the shocked, shocked reaction of the officials when the papers blow the lid off.

North Carolina - the new New Jersey.

Cary already is the new New Jersey, made up of mostly people from the old New Jersey. Just don't waste that on the whole state, please.

/When they built thing thing, the town ran off the really nice strip club, right to my old college down. Homecoming weekend FTW.

Reporter: Have you been drinking?

Brother of Famous Person: No!...end of sh-shtory.

You know your town sucks if you think building a theater for a famous person's brother would financially save the town.

I haven't seen the theater but given the description of where it was built, I think I know which "gentleman's club" was lost.

Ya know, if you think about it, the strip club had better patronage numbers than this idiotic theater. And I'll bet the club owners didn't leech off the public purse to build their establishment.

This has been a cluster fark since day one. Glad to see other papers have picked it up, this guy is a drunken scammer.

My Favorite part was:

Parton's attorney said Friday the city was unfairly impugning the singer's reputation.

LMFAO!
