Oakenshield: With a banana, no doubt.

That's what I was going to say. DRTFA

Headline: Hi, I'm Kirk Cameron, and although I'm no rocket scientist

That may be the understatement of the year.

The banana argument makes about as much sense as the "why is there no spontaneous life in my jar of peanut-butter" line of thinking. Somebody needs to introduce Kirk to the pineapple, because using that argument, if the banana is proof of god's existence, then the pineapple and every other difficult to eat fruit or vegetable is like his big fark-you to mankind.

Also, wild bananas look like this:
www.dasmirnov.net

Those pretty yellow things that God so graciously created specifically so that they were easily eaten by humans were actually created by man through hundreds of years of selective growing and genetic alterations.

Ditto.

Manic_Repressive [TotalFark] 2007-11-19 10:26:45 AM
Well, I couldn't help but RTFA. They don't really go into either side's argument, so I'll have to also conclude that Kirk fell back on the old banana line of reasoning.
The link is sort of worth clicking on, however, because the woman representing the 'Rational Response Squad', who is only identified as Kelly, has a big rack.

Thanks for that breaking news from May, submitter.

I've seen the "debate", and the RRS wiped the floor with Kirk and his Sensei. I know for a fact that that's not the best the theists can do. I'm sure most theists who saw this were offended to have such a couple of morons defending them.

/atheist, but would've liked to see a real debate that didn't involve willful ignorance about evolution.

Can we just get more pics of Kelly? Cause I'm too lazy for a flamewar.

FTFA: Hi, I'm Kirk Cameron and my partner and I Ray Comfort come to you tonight not as molecular biologists or rocket scientists, but simply as an author and an actor...

No no, you guys want the Global Warming debate down the hall.

Mugato [TotalFark] 2007-11-19 11:27:37 AM
It was a no-holds-barred debate that was well worth watching.

That's some damn fine reporting there, Lou.

Yep, really old news... I'm pretty sure this was on Fark before.

Those are probably not made by God...

Don't tell Kirk but you just described human influence evolution and Kirk unknowingly gives it his blessing, LOL

I can't for the life of me understand why folks get so worked up and outright angry over people making silly arguments for, or against, the existence of any diety at all. Why not just shake your head and walk away instead of making the same ranting, foaming-at-the-mouth argument over and over and over again? I understand that maniac fundamentalism certainly causes a lot of problems, but I've seen a family cousin's boyfriend arguing with my wife's GRANDDAD about God, for fark's sake. Let it go. You don't need to flex your intellectual pecs every time you see a beach.

Like what I usually do when I see the two groups arguing, to be honest.

I'm with this guy. Nobody's in the mood for a religious flamewar on Monday morning; give us more pictures of the atheist redhead with the nice jubblies.

I want to pull back the curtain and show that the number one reason that people don't believe in God reality is not a lack in evidence, but because of a theory that many scientists today believe to be a fairytale for grownups.

Fixed for accuracy.
