Dude, stop buying pitbulls. They kill people. They're psychotic.

You're a complete moron for getting one and somehow being 'shocked' that it goes apeshiat and hurts someone.

The only thing that connects this guy to Michael Vick is that they both play(ed) for the Atlanta Falcons.

FAIL! You can't blame a a whole breed of dogs on these isolated cases. It is true that pits can be mean and vicious dogs, but so can Beagles. The pit I used to have was the most loving and loyal pet I've ever had. Check it out asshat, you'll find out that most pits who attack people are strays and were trained to fight. In other words, they were raised in a crappy environment and trained to be mean. You blame the owner, never the dog.

you don't have to train a pit bull to be mean. You have to train it to be nice. That is the difference between pit bulls and other much friendly breeds.

We have a pitbull mix, and she is a sweetheart.

Idiot.

You know, people have been known to go apeshiat and hurt someone...so I guess everyone who starts a family is a "complete moron".

Sorry, but this is false. In fact, "Pit Bull" is not even a breed of dog. Its the name given to about 4 different breeds, including the Staffordshire Terrier.

The "Pit Bull" name has been completely destroyed, but around the turn of the century these dogs were amazingly popular and billed as protectors.

The fact is that these breeds are amazingly loyal. In this case, it seems like the dog was loyal the this guy's girlfriend. As it should have been. I don't doubt that the dog had been beaten by this guy before, and probably reacted harshly to him at some point.

There is no mention of the dog attacking the child in the article. This is more than likely spin from the lawyer.

Even if the dog was volatile at times, that is no excuse for beating it to death. I have pulled my 80 pound American Bulldog (a breed often mistaken for a "pit bull") off my 25 pound Boston Terrier when they got into it more than once. Both are still alive and well.

I'll take my chances with the mean and vicious beagle over the mean and vicious pit bull any day of the week. So would you if you could think rationally on this subject. A pit bull is a deadly weapon not necessarily because of it's disposition, but because of it's capability to kill. For example, I own a gun. I would never shoot you except in self defense.(I promise) But i guarantee you wouldn't like it if I pointed it directly at you. That's how I feel when someone's "sweetheart" pitbull is sniffing my crotch.

/no human being should be jailed for what they do to an animal
//not as long as we still cage them and eat them lawfully

...and that a prosecutor deems it necessary to waste taxpayers money by sending him to prison.
