What immigration problem?

Yes, because the Church of Pack really needs this. Good for America and all that.

America won't be around in the next 100 years. The Government is rotten from the inside out. This is how liberty dies...with thunderous pointlessness.

Yep. At least the ride lasted a couple hundred years longer than they thought it would.

I think sometimes congressmen propose things like this on a dare.

It's just a giant bloody fraternity.

Andulamb 2007-10-09 04:25:16 PM
I've never understood why politicians feel the need to insert themselves into everything. Maybe it's to avoid the criticism they surely get when they DON'T recognize something that someone somewhere considers significant and recognition-worthy. Or maybe it's because they're a bunch of self-important gas bags.

Rapmaster2000 2007-10-09 04:26:00 PM
You know how I know the Packers suck?

One word: Packarena.

Man On Pink Corner [TotalFark] 2007-10-09 04:26:48 PM
Seriously. I need some advice on the ethical way to work, play, and participate in society when one finds oneself living at the trailing edge of a great civilization. As such, recent history offers no guidance. If only there were someone around Fark with, say, a degree in ethics...

I must say that I'm proud that, so far, no Minnesotans have signed on to this.

Yes, it's great that he broke the record, but come on, STFU and actually do some work.

You know, passing these silly resolutions is just something Congress does. Always has, always will. It takes really no time or effort, and the people who request them and those who get them appreciate them.

Why is this always such a big deal, and why are there always these dumb threads about them?

I, too, wish to show my support for Brett Favre's awesomeness. Now I just need a vote in Congress...

spleef420 2007-10-09 04:37:29 PM
Why is this always such a big deal

because it's not their job to decide who gets recognition in the farking NFL. This isn't part of the job that WE hired them for.

don't get me wrong, I understand Congress weighing in on illegal drug use and cheating in pro sports but this shiat is a major waste of time and taxpayer dollars.

Brett Favre is a presidential shoe-in for the first year after his retirement, in 2036.

Stepqhen 2007-10-09 04:38:42 PM
Our government needs to STFU and GBTW already. The Repubs fought for a resolution to condemn MoveOn.org for using their freedom of speech. The Dems tried to get one against Rush for bashing soldiers who said the war sucks. Now they are wasting time with this crap. I swear, they would be more effective if they spent their day on a message board full of whiners, smartasses, and trolls.

every singe one of them needs to be smacked upside the head until reason and logic can find a crack to seep in through.

first year after his retirement

he'll never retire...Favre will die on the fifty-yard line at Lambeau Field and be buried in the endzone right next to Hoffa.
