Hello, 'Shoppers! For those of you who don't know, an exquisite corpse is a type of collaborative art project, where each contributor creates a portion of the whole. In this case, I have carefully cropped (and made minor tweaks to) an image of a fire escape, so that the top and bottom line up. In other words, you can stack this image indefinitely to create one tall building. Each participant is to take this image, with its original dimensions, and add to it. But, be careful not to edit the tops & bottoms, so that it blends seamlessly with the entries preceding and following yours. Have fun!

I will create an additional web page for this. When this contest goes live, I will link it here, and I will put everyone's entries directly atop one another, so they can be seen as intended: as 1 huge image. It shouldn't really cost people bandwidth, because everyone should have the images already cached from viewing them here. I'll also let you see them grouped in a couple different ways: All Entries, TotalFark Entries, and FarkLite Entries.

Fixed Exquisite C'o'rpse.

This makes a very small adjustment to the steps so they line up. The less compressed version in the main article link has also been updated.

Moonbat's provided the bottom piece, so I guess I'll go ahead and provide the top piece.

wavion: You're right. I'll fix it. The effect should be so subtle that it shouldn't matter for the current submissions.

FAIL!

Just teasing, wavion. This is a great idea and I think you arranged it the right way. Doing the tiling staircase definitely makes it more Fark- friendly.

elle 2007-07-31 05:02:45 PM
yeah, good job on the staircase, wavion. it is indeed fark friendly and simple way the make it connect.
here is an example of a fark corpse from past.

(Damn the resize for height. The original image is the right width for the concept, though.)

I had tried to emulate the stair climbing scene from FF7, but couldn't find the right images. my next move was going to be FF6.
