fjord- a narrow inlet of the sea between cliffs or steep slopes

Anyone else find it slightly suspicious that his arm "just happened" to be protected by computer gear he had strapped there?

SCUBA Diving Rule #1 - Never hold your breath.

SCUBA Diving Rule # 2 - If you are not sure what it is, don't touch it. If it doesn't swim away when you approach it, don't touch it.

Asshat.

It is rare that divers get attacked by sharks because sharks attack from below (which is why surfers always gets munched). Divers are usually closer to the ocean floor, so they go unnoticed by sharks.

Now if you go around poking sharks, why are you surprised when you get bit?

toddalmighty [TotalFark] 2007-07-18 02:54:46 PM
I've been pining for the fjords.

BeatleFreak Anyone else find it slightly suspicious that his arm "just happened" to be protected by computer gear he had strapped there?

Most divers wear there computers strapped to their wrists/lower arms. It's easier to access that way.

Me w/ Scuba instructor: "Do I need a knife?"

Instructor: "What for?"

Me: "In case there's a shark?"

Instructor: "Oh. Sure. You see a shark take out your knife and stab your buddy and then swim away as fast as you can"

.... aaaaand, it's official. "Mom jeans" is now played out.

Thank you, "Mom Jeans," for the days of entertainment you've given us. Please enjoy your well-earned (and, I'm sad to say, mandatory) retirement alongside Chuck Norris jokes and "I'm Rick James, biatch."

justanotherfarkinfarker 2007-07-18 03:04:24 PM
Hah. Why do I always get strangers with candy in my head when I hear mom jeans.

theorellior 2007-07-18 03:07:05 PM
Uzzah, Chuck Norris once roundhouse-kicked Rick James so hard he put on mom jeans and said, "I am the biatch!"

harryCanyon Instructor: "Oh. Sure. You see a shark take out your knife and stab your buddy and then swim away as fast as you can"

OLD scuba joke. Or my instructors say that as long as you can swim faster than your buddy, you don't have to worry about sharks.

BeatleFreak No worries...I am turning scuba into my career. It's fun to teach people new things.

/don't have a wrist mounted computer because I can't afford one...yet.
