I've never complained about something being greenlit, but seriously, this got greenlit?

Loligo 2007-07-06 03:01:26 AM
But makeup and cosmetic surgery and such were what made them tolerable to look at before.. well, a couple of 'em, maybe.

Is it just me or does the ginger one look like Joan Rivers?

tokyogirl79 2007-07-06 03:48:53 AM
Meh. All celebrities & singers look like crap when the makeup comes off, so that photoshop isn't shocking. (Other than it was pretty badly done. The farkers here could do a better job.)

I don't really care if they come back or not. Back when they first came out I couldn't stand them, but they're actually pretty mild in comparison to what the pop-starlets do nowadays.

Jayzus! Using a 'Fwd: FWD: Re: FWD: Fwd: THIS IS REALLY FUNNY!!!!' email to fill space in an ailing newspaper? The Sun is there.

Don't miss tomorrow's soaraway Sun for a hilarious look at what a women-only car-park might look like.

The blond still looks like a screamer.

binnster 2007-07-06 07:51:45 AM
The photoshop was done by this guy for this website. I think he'll be a bit pissed off when he sees the Sun has nicked it and removed his tag from the side of the picture.

Yeah, I'm this old...

Anyone here remember/seen the pics of the Beatles in LIFE (magazine for all you kids) of what they would look like at about age 64?

If only they looked THAT good, although Ringo seems to have aged the best plus he must have SUMPTIN going on to be have gotten
Barbara Bach to marry him.

that's a good idea for a photoshop thread...i'm sure some of our resident awesomers would be able to crank out something really good.

Computer.... ex... perts....

That's one of the most hamfisted cut-and-paste jobs I've seen in a while.

angrygrizzly 2007-07-07 01:20:37 AM
Not the fault of the guy who did it. Fault lies with the Sun.

And whoever greenlit this.

The Great Architect 2007-07-07 08:26:49 AM
Hmmm. As the guy who 'created' this image, can I just say that I've never actually claimed to be any good at photoshopping. As angrygrizzly says above, it's the fault of The Sun, not me. I certainly didn't ask for it to be printed when I knocked it up in half an hour just over a week ago, and I'm currently contacting the Sun about its use both in print and online. Don't shoot the messenger, guys, I know it isn't the worlds best 'shopping job, and I never claimed it was. I don't rely on photoshopping for a salary , it's just used to dabble every now and again. It was produced for a non-commercial digital arts site, mentioned by binnster above, where thankfully it is considered that 'joke is better than technique'.
The significant area of the image is the deliberate 'de-tagging' of the image prior to printing and hosting online. A problem not only associated with images printed by the Sun, but also by other publications, such as NUTS and especially ZOO Magazine. I, and a significant number of other individuals, have had a large body of 'viral' images de-tagged, deliberately 'shopped over and printed without permission, and used for commercial use by the Publishers.
