Makes sense, the way the Phillies play. They could be hockey players on the field trying to play baseball.

You would think the NHL would know what teams are in their league.

So Briere will need a new stick contract cos those baseballs are likely to break his stick ever time he hits one

mjgrazi23 2007-07-01 07:24:10 PM
Put him in the bullpen...Or as a starter. Or pull some fans from the crowd to pitch. It would be better than what we have now.

Well, it says it is an AP article - not an article written by an NHL operative.

Blame the AP for screwing up. The NHL has probably told them they screwed up, but aren't legally allowed to "fix it" because of copy write laws.

/Maybe I'm talking out my ass though.
//Lets go Penguins!!!

I don't think the AP articles include the headline. I've seen the same article with different headlines many times.

Dear Mr. Holmgren:

One word: DEFENSEMEN.

Thank you,

Love and kisses,

The City of Philadelphia.

the Phillies couldn't play hockey any worse than last years Flyers.

Jjaro

he's GOT to have a huge 2nd half. i just dont see how he can go this long without hitting. he really isnt even close to this bad!

madden101 2007-07-02 02:16:49 AM
hmmmm.... still no change in the headline. I suppose the league is too busy winning back fans to bother with correctness....

What were you expecting, genius? The people in the Philadelphia area to be a bunch of Ranger fans?

Dear Mr. Holmgren:

One word: DEFENSEMEN.

Well, they just picked up Nashville's captain & top-scoring defenseman in Kimmo Timonen and Edmonton's captain defender Jason Smith, in addition to two excellent young prospects (Braydon Coburn and Ryan Parent) and a solid young NHL regular (Lasse Kukkonen). Relax, their defense is not nearly as bad as last year. Hopefully Derian Hatcher's ice time will be limited to penalty kills and he'll retire when the cup is won by Philly in '08.

Dear Buffalo,

Thanks for the star 95-point player and #1 goalie. Good luck with all that cap space and not many FA's left to spend it on.

Warm friendly regards,
Flyers fans
