The fact that we even have "vice officers" is enough to terrify me.

they arrest hookers

damn. Looks like I'm in the wrong profession.

..and the wrong locale, too - I've seen the strip clubs here, not impressed.

Yergela 2007-05-11 10:48:50 AM
Whoa, wait a sec: "lap dances at $20 to $40 apiece", and the "lap dances in Seattle are legal only if the stripper isn't touching the customer," and "a dancer flashing her breasts while off-stage is still illegal."

So, a non-topless dancer dancing near you for $20-$40 is a "lap" dance in Seattle? Sheesh, remind me to avoid that waste of time if I am ever in the area...

Yeah, sounds like I could do better copping a cheap feel in the regular clubs.

Uh...no. At our club, they can touch the outside of her hips or sides while she is doing a lap dance but none of the other stuff. No breasts grabs, no "peek a boo, here's Mr. Johnson", or any of the other shenanigans. The girl warns them once and if they have a problem after that, I bounce them out whether they are 10 seconds into the dance or finished. No refunds.

To you and everyone else who does this... Please lets all stop asking "obscure?" to movie and TV references. If people don't get them, they can look them up. L.A. Confidential was a major motion picture that won Academy Awards, so therefore it isn't in the least bit obscure.

Hey, I've never seen L.A. Confidential so to me it was in fact "obscure". Just because you happen to be enlightened about every movie and television show ever produced doesn't mean others are as lucky.

A better use for an officer's time than say...a war on drugs. A cop has a tough life, reward em once in a while with a fake undercover operation....drinks and lap dances on us dudes...good job.

omfgodzilla 2007-05-11 12:18:32 PM
And this is why prostitution will never be legalized outside of Nevada. The cops are having too much fun "enforcing" the law.

StoneyBologna 2007-05-11 12:20:07 PM
From the article:

"A second officer, also not a regular vice cop, said he undid his belt, enabling the dancer to unzip his pants and rub his genitals through his underwear. She then grabbed his penis under his shorts before he could stop her hand, according to his report.

Yeah, I'm sure he just couldn't get his hand there in time. I bet he's traumatized.

Deckard: Excuse me, Ms. Salome, can I talk to you for a minute? I'm from the American Federation of Variety Artists.
Zhora: Oh, yeah?
Deckard: I'm not here to make you join. No ma'am. That's not my department. Actually, uh. I'm from the, uh, Confidential Committee on Moral Abuses.
Zhora: Committee of Moral Abuses?
Deckard: Yes, ma'am. There's been some reports that the management has been taking liberties with the artists in this place.
Zhora: I don't know nothing about it.
Deckard: Have you felt yourself to be exploited in any way?
Zhora: How do you mean, exploited?
Deckard: Well, like to get this job. I mean, did you do, or... or were you asked to do anything that's lewd or unsavory or otherwise, uh, repulsive to your person, huh?
Zhora: Ha. Are you for real?
Deckard: Oh yeah. I'd like to check your dressing room if I may.
Zhora: For what?
Deckard: For, uh, for holes.
Zhora: Holes?
Deckard: Well, you... you'd be surprised what a guy'd go through to get a glimpse of a beautiful body.
Zhora: No, I wouldn't.
Deckard: Little, uh, dirty holes they, uh, drill in the wall so they can watch a lady undress. [pause] Is this a real snake?
Zhora: Of course it's not real. Do you think I'd be working in a place like this if I could afford a real snake? [pause] So if somebody does try to exploit me, who do I go to about it?
Deckard: Me.
Zhora: You're a dedicated man. Dry me.

/never changes...

I was on an operation like this once and before I could stop the dancer she slipped and took me back to her appt for 3 hours of sex at 150 an hour. I couldn't stop her she moved so fast.

I think the only way to keep these investigations completely above-board is to send gay male officers there ...

daas_boot [TotalFark] 2007-05-11 12:27:42 PM
As an ex-stripper (male) we are well aware of what the legality is and how far we can allow a patron to go. The basic uniform is a thong. We were allowed to pull down the back of the thong and expose our anal area, as that is not legally considered a sexual organ. We were NOT allowed to expose our genitals although a patron could touch our genitals through the fabric. Sexual contact "grabbing a patrons crotch, etc." was allowed as long as the patrons genitals were not exposed. Digital insertion of a finger into an orifice (UFIA) was illegal, though they all tried.

If I had $20 for every lapdance I gave to some guy with a wedding ring on.....

/wait I do.

IrishBlunder 2007-05-11 12:28:29 PM
FTA: In 11 reports, dancers fondled the officers' genitals through their clothing while performing.

Oh, the HORROR.

I think the most noteworthy part of this article is that a city the size of Seattle, ~600,000 people, only has 4 strip clubs. I live in Bellevue, so I know how stupid Seattle's laws are about them, but down in Portland there's a ton of them. It's strange that a city that bills itself as being so progressive has such a conservative attitude towards strip clubs.

DaveNukem 2007-05-11 12:29:53 PM
Officer Smitty Werbermanvanjenson was quoted as saying, "One of the strippers allowed me to grab her breasts, and didn't mind it when I undid my belt, pulled my pants and shorts down and held the back of her head while she performed fellatio on me.

Afterwards, she also didn't object when I took her out into my undercover patrol car and nailed her in my back seat, after which she allowed me to drive to her apartment where we snorted cocaine all weekend. She also agreed to meet me the following weekend."

They are cracking down on the Dallas/Metroplex clubs. Already shut down two of the more permissive ones.
