Score! I got Grand Canyon and "Temptations of Las Vegas" (whatever that means.) So I get double points.

I'd like to trade them in for the giant stuffed panda with the cowboy hat, please.

11 and 14. Who wants to touch me?

I said who wants to f*cking touch me?!

Lord Brixton [TotalFark] 2007-05-03 04:14:03 AM
I don't think it counts if you already live near one, or have been imprisoned there for a crime you did not commit.

VlagimarPutin 2007-05-03 04:15:03 AM
Ah yes, the temptations of Las Vegas

Lord Brixton

But if I have a problem, and no one else can help, and if I can find you, can I hire you?

Lord Brixton [TotalFark] 2007-05-03 04:22:04 AM
If you can help find me, I'll pay you!

4 Drifting down the Amazon
9 Sagrada Familia, Gaudí's masterpiece in Barcelona
11 Sistine Chapel, Rome
14 The canals and palaces of Venice
25 Itaipú,the world's biggest dam, Paraguay and Brazil

Lived 10+ years in south america, never went to see the mayan / aztec ruins. I guess when you live somewhere you always say "naah, I can always go over there, it's nearby". Then you move overseas.

/Itaipu is beautiful

Homicidalsausage 2007-05-03 05:19:15 AM
Backpacking through Europe this summer. Gonna hit Rome, Venice and Barcelona.

7 Petra

I unfortunately attended a Petra concert at the Elkhart County (IN) Fair, circa 1986. Definitely not as wonderful.

Have been to Detroit dozens of times, though!

Suckmykiss 2007-05-03 05:34:16 AM
Glad to see a list of "places you must see" that doesn't snob Las Vegas. Vegas is a place you just gotta see if you've never been there.

shift_DAWG 2007-05-03 05:34:36 AM
You may have been to paradise, but you've never been to you.

/yes, you.

kilopane 2007-05-03 05:37:28 AM
11,12,19 and 23 for me.

I've also flown over #6 at relatively low altitude while on the way to #23. Does that count?

yarnothuntin 2007-05-03 05:37:53 AM
Any points if you've built some of those in CIV 3 or 4?

ignite ice 2007-05-03 05:39:05 AM
I haven't been to any of those sites.

/So I'm not getting a kick out of these replies.

All my life I've wanted to avoid being a tourist. Here are my top spots on Earth:

- The Scottish highlands, by train
- The coral reefs of the Indian ocean, by snorkel
- Lagos Island, by okada
- South of Manhattan, by Statten Island ferry
- Northern Rwanda, watching gorillas
- The Rift Valley, by jeep and foot
- Roasted goat + Primus in Matonge, Kinshassa
- Playing dun-dun and djembe in Central Park, NYC
- The coastal islands south of Luanda, by boat only
- My bed, whereever that is

Mostly, wide-eyed foreign devils who are ticking off a "places to see before I die" list drive me off to find some real people to talk to, eat with, play some music with, maybe have sex with if conditions are right.

yukichigai 2007-05-03 05:41:37 AM
I've been to The Grand Canyon and I was damn near a Las Vegas resident, considering how often I went down there. Good times, good times.

What do I win?

Andromeda 2007-05-03 05:45:31 AM
I've seen the Pyramids, the Grand Canyon, Venice, and the Sistine Chapel. The last one I hardly remember though- I was four years old at the time, and didn't understand why everyone was standing around, so I spent most of the time sitting and looking at the pattern in the stone on the floor.

/was finally coaxed into looking up

Seen mayan ruins. They were pretty awesome, the carvings on the buildings were beautiful. Then a goat ate my snowcone.

/afterward, I had to pay $2 to get into a bathroom. Some creep was standing outside charging for it. I peed all over the floor.
