Until a few years later when he "dreams" about some other girl's phone number.

Shenanigans... you're not supposed to be able to read or specifically hear numbers and letters in a dream.

tovette: That's awesome. That's fate, man. Right there.

A love-struck Brown said: "I've no idea how I ended up with her number in my head - it's only a few digits different from mine."

That's not fate: that's your subconscious screwing up your own phone number and then convincing you that you need to call it.

Shenanigans on YOUR shenanigans!!! :)

I remember when I was a kid, I met a girl when I was out at some shopping center. (I was in 5th grade...). I got a phone number from her but managed to lose it somewhere. Luckily, I think I read it once or twice, because after being pissed/sad that I couldn't find it, I remembered the numbers in a dream about a weeklater. When I woke up, I called. Woot!

I recently had a dream I was waiting at a crossroads Robert Johnson style. Alas, I woke up before I actually got to sell my soul for the ability to play.

Cool dream though.

In general, but not strictly. Many of the supposedly hard and fast rules regarding the brain can be bent, and even outright broken.

SpiderQueenDemon 2007-04-10 03:01:07 AM
Whoa. This may well be the sign of that impending Return of the King thing the rapture-monkeys are on about. St. Joseph was supposed to get all his heavenly marching orders (marry the pregnant chick, get to Bethlehem, avoid Herod,) from dreams. I move we put this woman on the Pill, just as a matter of principle.

Some girl TXT'd me the other day, thinking it was some guy she knew.

After some playful banter I was invited to a cocktail party and then she followed-up by calling me voice...which I thought was probably taking a funny game too far. I didn't answer. My French-accented wife is on my greeting saying that I'm not available (I rock, I know) and to leave a message, which I think scared her off.

Then today one of her friends TXT'd me.

It's so wierd. I even have this girl's full name.

At 33, I still know how to flirt with college girls. HAHAHAHAHA

It works man. TXTing=secks.

Damn, she won the lottery. The only people beating down her door were probably solicitors for Polish vacations that include cosmetic procedures.

Seconded. I have dreams where I'm reading or dealing with numbers all the time. In fact, the main way I can tell I'm having a lucid dream is by intentionally trying to read someting- if it's lucid, I can't.

/only happened a few times in my life
//lucid dreams rock

In other news; a good way to impress a girl is to tell her you dreamt her phone number.

CowboyNinjaD 2007-04-10 03:59:26 AM
I have a friend whose parents kind of met like this. They were in high school and the wife and her friends were just calling random numbers to fark with people. But when the husband answered the phone, he just played along. They eventually met, dated through high school, got married and had four kids.

And this was like 30 years ago, way before texting and IMing and all that crap.

There were a lot of "pix" I was thinking about sending her, but just in case she was underage, I showed some restraint. Law enforcement has no sense of humour in this country, I swear.

Highly doubtful if I will ever find a lady with the phone number I dreamed...all I remember when I wake up are the numbers six and nine.

You are kidding? I used to go out with my friends in college and we would get a little liquored up now and then. They used to have me dazzle the ladies (ha) by multiplying two two digit numbers in my head...I guess I can do that pretty fast, but whatever...Anyway...I used to go pass out later and I would dream about multiplication...I would wake up sometimes and remember the last two numbers I was multiplying in my dream and I would check my answer from said dream and it would be correct.

I've read things in dreams and remembered specific colors from dreams. But I've heard you're not supposed to be able to read or tell colors apart in dreams.

I did math in a dream once. I dreamt I had a hit record that sold 3 million copies and I was calculating my due royalties... Refer to noobcake's post.

One of the problems with living in Virginia, but having a Seattle phone number is the wrong numbers all tend to be 3,000 miles away.
