That's gay enough to be a dolphin.

Well, shiat. I don't have 3D vision :(

IAmRight [TotalFark] 2007-03-25 04:25:23 AM
that was pretty cool!

/yeah, it's a shark. too bad they didn't have it eating someone. that would've been AWESOME.

mizike: That's gay enough to be a dolphin

A headless dolphin. The left side of the image was static-y for me for some reason. It looked like the Navy dolphin found its underwater mine.

I don't see sh*t.

FlyingPig [TotalFark] 2007-03-25 04:47:12 AM
Cheap way to do it is cross your eyes, but you'll see it inside out.

mizike 2007-03-25 04:48:29 AM
awww.. I was all stoked about an animated stereogram and now I'm too drunk to even see it again.

dammit

RobertBruce [TotalFark] 2007-03-25 05:03:55 AM
now if only the shark were attacking the farking sailboat!

testbenchdude 2007-03-25 05:57:16 AM
Nice shark.

/cue the "It's a sailboat!" comments...

Seriously though that waws hella cool, took me about 5 seconds to see it. I feel sorry for my g/f who can't ever see those due to her Duane's syndrome...

testbenchdude 2007-03-25 05:58:35 AM
oops. I'm disappointed you TFers. Weeners? old cliche...

StrongBrad 2007-03-25 06:00:03 AM
I can see it 2 different ways. One has the shark messed up with 2 of everything and there is an extra shark chunk closer to the front.

testbenchdude 2007-03-25 06:00:55 AM
Also... What kind of site filters "F i r s t c o m m e n t" as "Weeners"? Seriously messed up... Go ahead, type the above in a comment without the spaces and quotes and see what you get.

/yet another reason NOT to TF...

It's 6:00 AM.

Coke might be a factor.

i.mpure 2007-03-25 06:15:03 AM
I stared and stared...
I saw snakes dancing, heart monitor-ique lines, penguins, TV static...I even though for a moment I saw a manatee...even a weird aztec bunny bouncing backwards
but no dolphins or sharks

MetalLizard 2007-03-25 06:19:20 AM
These things never work for me. It always leaves me feeling left out. Glad to see that others are in the same boat now.

Mr_Smartypants 2007-03-25 06:25:04 AM
Dolphins wave their tails up and down, sharks do it side-to-side.

Nihilismus 2007-03-25 06:28:15 AM
At first, I saw it inside-out, in four dimensions. Perceiving all points in the universe simultaneously, I then licked the face of God, said "hello" to the penguin reading Proust, and sat back in my chair. Alas, it quickly disintegrated into a mere 3-D shark.

Imagine the disappointment.

Yay! stereogram thread! :D

I know it's not animated, but here's a parallel image stereogram that I made myself.

i73.photobucket.com

anyone else out there make 3d nonsense?

lindseyp [TotalFark] 2007-03-25 06:49:47 AM
I find it pretty interesting that you can clearly see the outline, even though there IS no outline.

This must be how dolphins see.

Persepolis 2007-03-25 06:51:32 AM
uttertosh: I know it's not animated, but here's a parallel image stereogram that I made myself.

Awesome. Post more, it's better than the thing linked to this thread.

kkrankk 2007-03-25 06:54:59 AM
That was less exciting than I hoped.

foxrox 2007-03-25 07:00:16 AM
uttertosh: anyone else out there make 3d nonsense?

Yeah, but I work with a different sort of 3D nonsense... 3D animation/game design, teaching myself the trade...About to start looking for freelance work, actually..
I've tried to make some stereograms of my stuff but they always come out wonky for some reason.

Know what, I'm gonna go give it another shot. I'll post again in like 5 minutes, assuming all goes well.

internutthead [TotalFark] 2007-03-25 07:02:21 AM
I don't even trust it to be honest... I have been burnt on the "stare at video to see something" and have the "jump in front of the camera and scream" thing to happen.

/completely frickin jaded.
//curse you interweb! You have stolen my innocence.

Didn't really work that great, still, it's worth a shot..

As you can probably tell if you're an Xbox gamer, I'm a bit of a chromehounds nut.

I think they're a bit too far apart.

shadow9 2007-03-25 07:22:40 AM
holy crap, for once i actually see the damn image.

it IS a midget riding a bull naked, right?

foxrox 2007-03-25 07:23:04 AM
Persepolis: I think they're a bit too far apart.

The camera angles, or the pictures themselves?

Persepolis 2007-03-25 07:25:42 AM
foxrox: The camera angles, or the pictures themselves?

The pictures themselves. I had to strain a bit to get them to overlap, and once that happened, it was too blurry to see the effects of it.

Maybe move them a 1/4 to 1/2 an inch closer.

shadow9 2007-03-25 07:28:32 AM
i too, for the record am trying to teach myself the 3d animation trade... took classes years ago, now i look at lightwave after finally installing it after 4 years and go "WTF?!"

/sigh.

I feel for you, it's REALLY hard at the beginning, especially if you don't know what you're doing.. Have you checked some tutorials? Try something like tutorialized.com or something, they have some awesome tutorials.

http://www.tutorialized.com/tutorials/Lightwave-3D/1

If you used 3dsmax I might be able to help, but I've never once used lightwave.

lemniscate 2007-03-25 07:33:04 AM
OMG!!! This is the first time I've ever gotten a stereogram to work for me! I'm very excited haha

Persepolis 2007-03-25 07:33:37 AM
foxrox: How's that one?

Too close, when it's overlapping, the far sides of each sort of double overlap, if that makes any sense.

Also, I'm going sans lens right now, so my eyes aren't what they normally are, so the problem may be on my end.

shadow9 2007-03-25 07:44:43 AM
awesome, thanks... booked marked that site, ill have to check it out later. i used to know lightwave inside out, but alas, the time goblins done take my knowledge away! or maybe it was the beer...

id also like to learn 2d flash style stuff, but im just too lazy for that haha

foxrox 2007-03-25 07:45:50 AM
shadow9: time goblins

Those bastards. I'm all too familiar with their antics.

I can;t do these

Axion22 [TotalFark] 2007-03-25 08:05:39 AM
It's a streetlight! Is it a streetlight? A STREETLIGHT!!!!

skifdank 2007-03-25 08:18:40 AM
All I could make out was some politician changing ties in 3D? A tiny little guy from mid-chest up located mid-length and slightly more towards the top of the stereogram, and scrolling right and flashing?
