That dude who made family guy missed one of those flights too. His agent told him the wrong time or something.

FlyingJ 2007-03-24 03:25:41 AM
No Bladel, I remember reading about it awhile back-he said he wondered what the hell he woulfd've done since that billionaire tech CEO was the only one in First Class to jump up & take a stand so they butchered him with their boxcutterst. Totally Headless-& Billy West originally had the seat next to him. West was m.c.'ing a breast cancer benefit here in L.A. & had no material so he switched his ticket to the Friday before. He's hosted that benefit every year since

Jaime Pressley was also supposed to be on one of the flights.

I was supposed to be on one of the flights as well, so I'm really getting a kick out of these replies.

I was on a direct flight from Pittsburgh to Boston on or around December 12th, 2005. We had to be de-iced prior to takeoff. Think of me on that date.

Dr. Venture 2007-03-24 06:40:49 AM
Matt Damon was on the Tonight Show a couple of years ago and said he missed that flight from Boston to LA.

Celebs certainly have a hard time keeping travel plans.

If I had a signed Phase 2 contract for my project in California I would have been on Flight 11, which I took every week for 6 months except that week.

And if I had a 2 foot wang, I'd be in movies. What's his point?

If it was a real conspiracy, there would have been a health department shutdown of the bar Mark was going to so that he'd be sure to make the flight.

/Given all the other god like powers the conspiracist have been granted, this one is easy.

My brother's friend worked in one of the towers, she started on September 10th and since she was the new girl she was doing a coffee run.

Like Keith Richards, who credits a Hogtown heroin bust with forcing him to go clean, Wahlberg can say a trip to Toronto saved his life.

That tells you all you need to know about this article's level of truth.

It seems like almost everyone in Hollywood missed a flight on one of those planes. Could it be that they are all that stoned to the point where they think that?

/oh wait. Hollywood DUH

Old and busted: Saying you just missed being on Buddy Holly's plane.

wildcardjack: If it was a real conspiracy, there would have been a health department shutdown of the bar Mark was going to so that he'd be sure to make the flight.

It's Canada the only conspiracy is against the maple leafs and letting Toronto think it's the center of the universe.

On September 11, 2001, I had a view of Marky Mark puking up Molson's from his previous night's party. Thanks for asking.

I was also on American Airlines flight 11, but a few Tuesdays before 9/11. I kind of wish I had hung on to the boarding pass.

/no need to pray for me. I'm already dead...on the inside, at least.

Is Mark Wahlberg's birthday this week? This is at least the third link I have seen related to him greenlit over the previous few days. He is like the new Lindsay Lohan.

simpsonfan 2007-03-24 10:57:49 PM
In every disaster or accident we hear these stories. Some guy gets a flat tire on the way to the airport, misses the plane that crashes. We rarely hear about this guy if the flat tire causes him to miss the flight that lands safely, and take the one that crashes.

We chartered a plane to Toronto and we had a lot of fun that night drinking Canadian beer, which is much stronger than U.S. beer.

QFT!

kibitz_thingy 2007-03-25 07:52:55 PM
Doesn't he have a movie coming out? Oh yeah. Yes he does. Sometimes it pays to be victim. Sometimes you have to settle for near victim (wasted). My guess, neither victim or near victim. Drunk----probably. Just some hype for his movie. Did you notice this didn't come out until he has, oh yeah, a movie coming out.

Bobo_Spiewack 2007-03-26 09:15:16 AM
My first thought was "Thank God he wasn't on the plane".

Because of my concern for him as a human? No. Because of how disgusted I would be if he was killed. Think of how the Media has reduced the Afghanistan War (the one where they actually should be) into one "Friendly Fire" incident involving a guy who was known to maybe 11 people who weren't his immediate family beforehand.

It would have really sucked on a ginormous level if 9/11 was primarily known for killing Dirk Diggler.

That said, I call shenanigans. He chartered a plane to TO, but was flying commercially to LA? Attention whore.

/My cousin, a pilot, was next to take off at JFK.
//He saw it live, and sat on the runway for four hours wondering if someone was going to burst through the cockpit door with a knife and force him to take off.
///He now flies cargo planes.

BlueDjinn 2007-03-28 01:31:43 AM
The only "oooooh, creepy coincidence" type of thing I can claim is that about a week before 9/11, I was talking with my girlfriends' dad about the time I'd visited the Pentagon on some high school trip, and how I remembered thinking at the time that it was actually a really stupid idea to build the HQ for the entire U.S. Military in such an immediately obvious shape (from the air, of course).

Yeah, that's a great idea--let's take the place where all of the military decisions are made and build it in the shape of a giant bullseye! Never made any sense to me.
