I can see this out my front door. Massive cloud of smoke, and the air has a very heavy scent at the moment, and there is light ash currently coming down, with fire trucks heard in the distance.

BizarreRecords 2007-03-11 05:46:24 PM
Time to flee.

I forget what eight was for 2007-03-11 05:46:44 PM
Burn, baby, burn!

Dugaid 2007-03-11 05:47:17 PM
Damn I need to start drinking, I read that as Bush fire.

Chakat I hope you and everyone in your neighborhood are ok.

Weaver95 [TotalFark] 2007-03-11 05:52:23 PM
so how long do you think it'll be until all those white people start rioting and looting?

BizarreRecords 2007-03-11 05:54:42 PM
Weaver95

You silly, the government will take care of them, they're white!

Chakat 2007-03-11 05:56:05 PM
Dugaid

It's far enough away that it probably won't be a threat, but at the same time, does make me a bit nervous. I'll try to get some pictures, soon as I can find some batteries for my camera.

300 acres? thats barely a southern california barbecue!

Craptastic 2007-03-11 06:07:04 PM
Too bad the president doesn't live in Orange County. He'd have already cleared that brush and prevented a disaster.

fireclown 2007-03-11 06:21:33 PM
I blame Bush and Hitler.

snowcircle 2007-03-11 06:22:02 PM
I also had read that as Bush fire. First thing I thought was, oh god, what has that man done now...?

/i hate brush fires
//had to be evacuated because of them twice now.

bastian_74 2007-03-11 06:22:08 PM
That headline was not funny at all. Boo Hiss.

El_Smacko 2007-03-11 06:22:27 PM
Good timing. It's about time Orange County lived up to it's name a bit.

...How is a brush fire threatening in a rich suburb full of swimming pools?

...How is a brush fire threatening in a rich suburb full of swimming pools?

I dunno, but let's wait and watch for the rioting and looting.

Why should we care about these people? They chose to live in a known dangerous area. I say they deserve it.

/Them, and New Orleans

Burn it all.

"so how long do you think it'll be until all those white people start rioting and looting?"

And what the hell are they gonna loot, charred pinecones, and riot inside a ring of fire?

And besides, how much woods do you Californians have to burn anyways? You do this forest fire thing every year, I'm gonna start calling it the Aunt Bunny Syndrome.

Lillian, the biatch is burning down the forest again!

My mom lives outside of Banning and there was a brush fire last year right by her house, she almost came to live with me. That being said, PUT OUT THAT DAMN FIRE!!! I don't need another scare like last year.

© and I feel sorry if your mom lives near this Orange County fire, she'll be calling soon asking you whats for supper.

Incontinent_dog_and_monkey_rodeo 2007-03-11 06:27:47 PM
Wonder if they know what started it?

With so many homeowners upside-down on their mortgages, I expect arson to be a favorite past-time in the OC in the next few years...

bastian_74 2007-03-11 06:27:59 PM
Johny Cash approves.

On another note, who knew you could buy bush fire resistant homes?

I blame Brush shrub.

That would work better.

Faethe 2007-03-11 06:33:09 PM
Hey you all in granola land. I haven't heard anything on my local news. One of you let us know if Florida sent you some smoke jumpers and whatnot :)

Good luck!

baltimoreblonde 2007-03-11 06:34:33 PM
They think it was started by a vehicle fire. A rollercoaster site I go to says they're thinking of closing Disneyland because the fire's really close to the park.

waxon_waxoff 2007-03-11 06:35:18 PM
Damn you, Cormee, I was going to inflict that on the posters.

XxArsenykxX 2007-03-11 06:36:38 PM
This must be God's way of punishing California for housing so many sodomites!!!11!1!!!!

Maybe. If it had been a shub fire.

If that's true, then everyone better get the hell out of D.C. before the next smiting.

Hopefully this means they stop airing Laguna Beach.

DogLee 2007-03-11 06:39:20 PM
I'm about 10 miles south of the fire in the same hills. Nasty smoke.

I blame Gob.

SportingWood [TotalFark] 2007-03-11 06:40:36 PM
Big deal... this is normal and hardly news worthy outside of the local area. It's sort of like when hurricanes hit Florida... well, duh! It's hurricane-prone territory. Worse, people voluntarily build homes on the beaches and then whine about insurance rates and cost of cleanup. ZERO sympathy for hurricane or fire victims in areas very prone to either. Same for tornadoes. We live with the risk in the midwest. Shiat happens no matter where you choose to live, but increasing your odds of disaster and then expecting the rest of us to care is just plain stupidity.

NobertJoe 2007-03-11 06:41:34 PM
my old neighborhood.

I just moved out of it like a year ago....

My friends are evacuating now. It's not going well.

I am a fan of your website, and am relieved to see your blessed record collection is in Texas and nowhere near this conflaguration!!!

Ipod makes it better. Nothing like a little Andrea Bocelli to provide a soothing soundtrack when you are fleeing for your life.

Weird, I can see the smoke from my front yard.

Wow...I never thought I'd see something thats going on so close to me show up on a fark link.

I hope this thing doesn't go out of control. Tons of homes over there. What sucks too is that it's freaking hot outside, and windy.

/Lives in Yorba Linda, a little bit north from Anahiem Hills.
/Can see the giant brown smoke cloud from her back yard.

jennfurr 2007-03-11 06:46:48 PM
It was started by a stolen car on a tollroad... and it's pretty much out in the uninhabited hills, though a couple of houses have been damaged.

It was nice and orange for a while here, but now it's all just stinky and ashes raining down.

I'm about five miles due west of the fire.
