Yup. I'm pretty sure it counts as contempt. I'd expect the police to send an officer round to someone's home and track down the motherfarker like a dog for it.

But, you know, this surveillance is completely farking worthless. Just because you can find criminals means shiat if you don't get them to trial. Shoplifters get treated better than someone who's a day late with their tax return form.

A multi-agency Home Office group has been set up, the Defendant Attendance Steering Group, to look into the problem.

Jesus H Farking Christ. A farking steering group. Who no doubt will produce a really stern report. That'll get them into court.

The answer is simple. Get cops knocking on doors, finding people then arresting them and putting them in jail for contempt. Oh, and before that - build some more farking jails.

The more that criminals get pwned for farking with people, the more they'll come to find an alternative.

This is where the American myth of the British surveilance system falls down. It's not some big government thing that can track people. It's mostly privately owned cameras in shops. Also, the police have town centre cameras in public places for deterrant use, and so there's footage to use to prosecute people.

There's no way of actually finding someone.
