On Showtime after dark, she would have disrobed and the two of them would have had sex until the sun came up. Then she would have made him breakfast and he would walk out of the house, not even looking behind him to say goodbye.

A friend of mine did something like this in a moment of drunken stupidity. He awoke to find a shotgun in his face, and the woman made him call the police on himself. Good times.

If he was covered by a blanket, how did she know he was naked? I mean he could have been a Never-Nude.

"Maybe we just need some more time, baby. Giggity."

farktimenow: I was going to say the same thing!

However, the difference between Showtime & a regular porno would be the omittance of breakfast. And halfway through the porn the pizza guy would knock at the door around 3am.

Police seem to be operating on a lot of worst-case assumptions here.

Indecent exposure -- like, because he was naked under the blanket? I'm naked under a lot of things.

Suspicion of residential burglary -- though it doesn't mention anything stolen. Why burglary and not kidnapping or rape? About equal evidence for all of them.

Sounds like they can't find anything illegal about entering someone's home without permission and they have to rely on really stretchy premises instead.

retrosteve: Suspicion of residential burglary -- though it doesn't mention anything stolen.

Wiki:
In most jurisdictions in the United States, burglary is a felony and involves trespassing, or entering a building or remaining unlawfully with intent to commit any crime, not necessarily a theft -- for example, vandalism. Thus, a conviction for burglary may qualify as a conviction under a three strikes law or habitual criminal statute. Even if nothing is stolen in a burglary, the act is a statutory offense.

Entering without permission is all kinds of illegal. They just needed a charge to book him on until they sort things out (like checking to see if anything's missing, did he break in or enter without breaking, etc.)

Not to be an ass, but how could anything be missing? He's still there!

I guess he could have come in, taken something out of the house, then come back in, but that seems unnecessarily complicated.

Agreed. Most likely he was just drunk and wandered into the wrong place. But when I served on a jury in a burglary case, witnesses said they saw the defendant enter and leave the house several times (carrying stuff on the way out).

A friend of mine actually had a similiar incident several years ago...

She was off in the back of the house taking care of some stuff, and was about to go to bed for the night when she heard some strange noises coming from the living room. When she went to investigate, the door into the house was wide open and some dude was passed out on her couch.

After the police arrived to remove the guy, it turned out he lived on her block, but had simply wandered into the wrong house after a late-night bender.

Needless to say, she checks the doors at night now.
