this thread is worthless without pics of Elizabeth Hurley in tight leather.

Now what was the subject again?

He wasn't that bad when he played it on a lark in 'Curse of the Fatal Death,' but I can see how he could mess it up. He doesn't really have the ability to play such an eccentric and assertive character.

That, and he's shorter than anybody else in the world.

Hugh Grant as Doctor Who...Eh, no.

Hugh Grant is Dr. Pube.

Never make it as the Doctor. Maybe as the companion who gets kidnapped and beaten . . . repeatedly.

That was Rowan Atkinson, I believe.

As for Hugh... eh, maybe I could see it, but Eccleston and now Tennant are so good, I wouldn't want to change any time soon.

At first. Hugh Grant is a regeneration.

Don't know how to make it pop:

Hmm... Does this mean David Tennant's on his way out? Shame, cause I really like him.

Hugh Grant is affable and charming enough unfortunately, Hugh Grant can only play Hugh Grant and that would just be sucky Dr Who.

Eh, he would be out within a few years anyway. Most Doctors only last three years nowadays and with the offers he's getting, he'll probably throw out the 'don't want to get typecast' and bolt.

You know, because once you play one immortal British timetraveler, you'll always play one....

Just, yes, he is right. Not enough depth of quirk.

What if they could get Christopher Eccleston to come back?

/I wish Scifi channel would show the reruns, of either season. Hell, it would be farking great if they showed the earlier seasons, but I don't have the BBC
