A streetlight?
forked_at_fark
2007-02-18 01:32:15 PM
No, it is not a street lamp.
Not a plane either, because it has been about in the same spot in the sky for awhile

You took a pic of Unicron. And apparently, he's feeling a little bit down today.

A streetlight at night, possibly in the rain, possibly shot through a dirty window.

I don't know, but tell it to wipe that shiat on the curtains before it drips on the carpet.

And what is that tail thingie.
I took several pics and it was in all of them.
I cleaned the lense well before starting.
I was using 48x zoom.

I still vote for streetlight. Some precipitation involved.

You're not really an astronomer if your telescope is a cardboard toilet paper roll.
Put down the disposable camera & muskatel, and go take a nap.

I'm sorry but in my mind the error of you being on drugs or just and attention whore and taking picture of a streetlight is astronomically higher than that of it being anything else.
It might be a reflection off something else of a streetlight, but it's a streetlight nonetheless.

If that picture was taken with that camera you're a miserable photographer. I have a 12X optitical with only 6mp and even under the worst conditions I couldn't get that bad of a picture, and I use mine rather exclusively for night shots so I know how to fark up a picture

By the way, the thing isn't in the sky where I can see it anymore.
Here is a pic of the streetlight.
I didn't mess with the tripod this time, so it is a little blurry.

People, it's not a streetlight. Let's use technology to figure this out.
Here, I lightened it up in Photoshop.

I tried various settings.
I couldn't get it to focus at all at 76x, so I turned off the digital zoom and settled for 48x.
And I used a tripod.
Could it have been a shuttle or the ISS, or perhaps a satellite?

It's not a planet, just a large chunk of ice.
