At least Bob Rock will not be involved with this. That's the exact moment they started to suck - when they met Bob Rock. Rick Rubin is an awesome producer - Reign in Blood is one of my all time favorites. However, I think they should have gotten Flemming Rasmussen (hope its spelled right). Get back to what they once were. Is Rasmussen still alive?

St Anger was horrible. While I still play S&M and the Black Album, not much else is in my rotation. My Megadeth albums have filled that void.

Eeeh, they have been dead to me since they went out of their way to fark their fans. Then they haven't put anything out since Justice that was really worth a darn anyway.

I think "Californication" is the best RHCP album by far. Its in my top 3 albums since 2000. It really rewards repeated listening. John is one hell of a guitar player.

i'm amazed at the mileage they get out of their older songs. It's been 16 years since the black album, over 20 since their first three, and people still fill arenas to see these guys perform. Their music may be lacking of late (and by of late i mean for 20 years) but they still put on a good live show.
