It says "Only fools are enslaved by time and space".
That scene was so disturbing.

Heh...I told my wife there was probably some sort of message in that scene when we were watching it...

mathmatix 2007-02-10 01:16:21 PM

Was this during the Clockwork Lost sequence?

Heroic Poser 2007-02-10 01:27:38 PM
Yes. I also saw "God loves you and so does Jacob", who was mentioned that may be THE man that runs things.

BrownManUPS 2007-02-10 01:40:58 PM
That's pretty cool.

It said "We don't know what the fark we're doing with this show either. We just threw the polar bear in to laugh at all the schiat you'd come up with to try to explain it. It actually means nothing."

Heroic Poser: Yes. I also saw "God loves you and so does Jacob", who was mentioned that may be THE man that runs things.

Actually, it said, "God loves you as He loved Jacob."

2 approved links in 1 day? That's it, i'm buying a lottery ticket. This is so awesome.

Anyway, now im thinking this whole thing with Dharma is related to time travel. The guard on this weeks show was reading "A Brief History Of Time", Sawyer on the beach reading "A Wrinkle In Time" - it's got to be connected. Im thinking the entire island is a giant Tesseract, or something.

The words "Only fools are enslaved by time and space" is a quote from a Buddhist text. WHAT DOES IT ALL MEAN?!?!?! I don't farking know. But at least the show got interesting again.

Maybe it's an anagram for some other phrase...?

"Too many secrets" Oh wait, that was that movie. No, the other one...

\don't watch the show
\\just sayin'

Yes, its the entire scene (that weird techno sounding crap) but in reverse.

"Freddy is the devil."

CityHall 2007-02-10 06:30:57 PM
Uh, the bears were on Russo's ship. They were on some science expedition to Antarctica.

if they really wanted weird music, they should have just licensed an old Aphex Twin track. great show, however. loved the "Always Sunny In Philadelphia" crossover.

Judas Priest!

If you pause it at 1:58 after the first commercial, you can see where Tyler Durden spliced in a single frame:

Pause? I don't even WATCH it anymore, let alone waste time taping it. If Bob Denver were still alive, adding him to the cast as Gilligan wouldn't make the show worth watching. Maybe some improv could help: The scene early in the series when they first blew open the hatch. Some huge explosion, then someone could have said "Think you used enough dynamite there Butch?". Nuke the place and get it over with. Sawyer can live, the rest of them it would be good riddance.

I saw the guy (guard) was the actor from ASIP but I did not see a "crossover." Did I miss something?

why are there always elitist tv douche bags that feel they have to come to these threads to let everyone know they don't watch the show anymore.

Smoof 2007-02-10 09:40:47 PM
keepitcherry

Undoubtably, they used to watch the show when it first debuted and thoguht it would be a great niche show, but when they heard it was hugely popular, it automatically became crap.

Anyone notice Juliettes husbands name? EDMUND BURKE?!

Hah.

Uh, the bears were on Russo's ship. They were on some science expedition to Antarctica.

No, they weren't, Dharma was working on the bears on hte island. Remember Sawyer's cage was a bear cage, and the DeGroots were doing stuff with polar bears?

gocheesego 2007-02-11 04:37:54 AM
mmm, Naveen Andrews.
I don't care what happens in the show but I want him on my screen more often.
/preferably sitting on top of my television

I have only seen Lost a few times, but that guy can come sit on my--television, anytime he wants to.

/And I don't watch Lost, so I'm better than you.
//I don't even have cable!
/// I barely turn on my TV, and then only to watch PBS!
////I only come to Fark to make fun of you losers who care about this stuff!

Flashman73 2007-02-11 01:33:28 PM
I do not watch this "Lost" thing, I believe it to be a television program, but I wouldn't know for sure because I do not own a television. Why would I? I do not even use electricity. That's how hardcore I am.

"The music is reversible, but time is not. Turn back! Turn back! Turn back!"

/obscure?

I should be a huge fan of a show like Lost. I like things that straddle the line between sci-fi and reality. I dig lit references and charachter motivations.

Yet somehow I enjoy watching 24's unrealism far better than watching this dumb fark

shake a bunny any day.

Niveras 2007-02-11 06:38:08 PM
Considering the scene, I imagine the 'backwords speech' was there just for effect in the scene, rather than intended to be heard and deciphered by viewers.

When revered, it sounded like something out of System Shock 2.
