Oh, they will.
I shan't watch it, however.

If Tartakovsky is still directing, I have hope.

I got to looking and I'm amazed how many music video mashups there are on YouTube using the Dark Crystal. There's Pink Floyd, Evanescence, KISS, the Crystal Method, Styx... jeez, people - there's life after 1982, you should go out an enjoy it.

I predict a CG orgasm with no story/plot whatsoever

That movie freaked me out something serious when I was 10.

I hated Dark Crystal. Hated it. Suffered miserably through every moment of it but one. (The wing scene was funny for a couple seconds.) Hated every person involved in taking me to the theater. Every person involved in making it. Wished for a disaster to strike the Northeast and put and end to it, and me if necessary. Wished for all the characters to burst into flames so that in their dying screams I could find some consolation that my feelings were shared.

And now, 25 years later, I wish suffering and misery upon the next generation, and submitter, and the admin who greenlit this.

Next thing you know they'll make goonies 2. Or The Sixth Element. Or or... you get the idea.

lol, my fiancee at the age of 22 was creeped out by it! I loved this movie as a child and even had one of those read along books with the tapes.

I wonder if they're going to get Steven Tyler to model for this one as well:

You want creepy-assed puppets?

Then you weren't paying attention in the past year. Here:

Mirrormask. Possibly one of the coolest movies I've ever seen. I love and want those eye spiders.

/no, not all of it is CG
//Jim Hensen and Neil Gaiman, woot!

"i'm wet"

funniest line in the movie

raiden23 2007-02-10 03:13:44 PM
I love Gaiman (check my profile if u don't believe it), but Mirrormask had NO story at all. It was all Dave Mckean visuals and no plot. Which is OK if you just burned one:)

I want to play a little game.

This vial will give you pneumonia.

Jim Henson played and lost.

As long as Fizzgig still looks just as cute/evil, then I'll watch it. Nothing like a little furry ball of teeth to share in some Gelfling love.

Ringshadow: Mirrormask. Possibly one of the coolest movies I've ever seen.

It looks great, but it's very much style over substance. I fell asleep midway through even though I like both Gaiman and McKean.

I was just about one year old when the first one came out. I loved loved loved the Skeksis. I was intrigued by them. They were so well made and so terrifying and I suppose that made them more real to me. I'll be looking forward to the second one. Here's hoping the kids keep their father's style and don't try to make it slick and CG.

Ringshadow 2007-02-10 05:11:05 PM
raiden23, FeedTheCollapse: Eh, to each their own. I actually liked the plot of Mirrormask, but I do admit, they were quite happy to throw eyecandy at you in bewildering amounts.
Of course that's the reason I own Advent Children. Eye Candy. *chuckle*

Anyways, I liked Dark Crystal and would be interested in seeing a second. If they didn't butcher it.

If they do the CG in the same way they did in Mirrormask it'll be a winner. The trick is doing CG enhanced puppetry, 100% CG won't work at all, as wouldn't 100% puppetry.

I think you're onto something there, Hypno.
