In other news... "Trigger the Horse was found brutally beaten this morning in an alley off Main St. Police are baffled."

sounds like a family-friendly feel-good romp. and i read it here first. wait what?

Thank god Lee's going to be directing. It was going to be done by just Disney without Pixar for a while and it was looking bad, real bad.

fred_chan 2007-02-09 07:39:18 PM
I trust Pixar but...I don't know. I like both Toy Story flicks, but I think three might be too many.

RocketRod [TotalFark] 2007-02-09 07:40:31 PM
I liked "SexToy Story" much better.

TehLydzz 2007-02-09 07:46:32 PM
WHY DO THEY KEEP MESSING WITH THINGS THAT ARE ALREADY FINE AS THEY ARE? We don't NEED this many sequels?
/if I had a picture of an angry cat, I would post it to further illustrate my feelings on this!

Also, disregard that question mark.

w00t!

They damn well better not screw it up. And the music must be by Randy Newman.

God I hope they bring back Randy Newman to sing for it!

Well, not ALL of the gang.

From TFA The new "Toy Story 3" will have no connection to the "Toy Story 3" Disney was hoping to develop without Pixar's input back before the two companies formally joined forces in 2005.

Translation: It won't suck AS BAD as it could have, if it sucks at all.

well normally i wouldnt be concerned either being pixar. since disney purchased pixar recently, i dont have high hopes.
especially if you've seen any of disney's recent releases on dvd, if they could beat barbaro before being buried at kentucky derby site(blanking on name off top of my head) they would...

there is now cinderella 3 is the most recent pile of crap i've seen advertised... but then again when my son watches the disney movies we all grew up on, my wife doesnt like it because of the violence... so eh...lol

Lord_Baull 2007-02-09 08:19:14 PM
Sorry kids, now that Disney bought out PIXAR, anything they put out from now on will be a crapfest. Exhibit A: Rattatouille.

imc130d 2007-02-09 08:32:46 PM
The tagline should be "Get your Woody and your Buzz on one more time!"

Er, the guys from Pixar are basically running Disney now. Scroll down the page a little - there was a story posted earlier about how they're the ones reopening Disney's traditional animation studio.

5,4,3,2,1 .... Queue the shark picture.

Wait! Come to think of it, I haven't seen the shark picture in a great while.

Let me guess. They're either in a thrift store, or in one of those "we sell it on ebay" joints.

Brubold 2007-02-09 11:47:30 PM
My understanding is that Pixar is still pretty much its own entity even inside the Disney umbrella. In other words, I don't think Disney is going to bring their suck into Pixar. But then Disney has done quite well with the Pirates movies too.

Anyway, the only Pixar movie that's ever made me say less than "wow" was Cars. It rated a "meh".

simpsonfan 2007-02-09 11:49:57 PM
Won't be the same without Slinky Dog, Knowhutimean? But if there is a lousy PIXAR movie, it must exist in some other universe, because there isn't one in ours.

Premeditated_Road_Rage 2007-02-09 11:56:42 PM
Great - only 1050 more shopping days left till I have to buy the whole damned toy set again for my kids.

It's been 10 years, surely Andy's moved on by now - perhaps TS3's plot will involve Woody and Buzz meeting Andy's new inflatable friend. Or, even odder, Andy's new vibrating and rotating friend.

jake3988 2007-02-10 12:25:34 AM
Toy Story is one of VERY VERY few sequels which are better than the original (and the original is awesome in its own regard).

Pixar rarely makes a bad movie... so I say... go for it. All we need is a Jim Varney replacement for Slinky.

shesablondebomb 2007-02-10 02:40:04 AM
Are there more Randy Newman theme songs too?

TheCid 2007-02-10 03:25:26 AM
Ah, good. Now it'll be even longer before Debian runs out of names.

zooklaw7 2007-02-10 03:48:42 AM
Oh, I initially read that as '2029'

It'll be one giant, watered down ad for thousands of Ritalin-ready kids' products & lame subtle attempts at humor to pass off as "joke for the adults too!"

/meh
