Why would anyone want John Kerry's house on campus???

tandkquinn 2007-02-04 02:26:59 PM
lol, what better post-bonging opportunity could there be on a college campus?

SpinStopper [TotalFark] 2007-02-04 02:34:50 PM
I don't see anything wrong with that.

I ate at a Waffle House for the first time last year, and it was great!

Of course, my idea of good eats is Taco Bell ;)

i think a waffle house in my apartment would be a better idea.

I can think of four Waffle Houses within two miles of UGA, and I only lived there for three months. Maybe they could put one nearer to downtown, but there are so many good independent places there - some 24 hours - that putting a chain restaurant there would be ridiculous.

My friend hooked up in a waffle house bathroom, once.

Also, one time I was FUBAR and went to WaHo in Columbus after seeing a Pro Ladie's Wrestling match. I passed out in the bathroom for a good while.

Good Memories

I'd love to have one on campus. It's got to be better than the food in the cafeteria.

Just make sure that Waffle House will accept your meal plan.

So, the human species still subjects their members to waffle house? weird.

Waffle House is the bomb. When I'm smashed, sloshed, blitzed and hammered I really want something smothered, covered, scattered, chunked and peppered.

We spent many a late night at the one on Lexington. If there was one downtown it would cut into The Grill's late night business, and maybe the drunks would clear the streets a little quicker.

It's hard to beat the gyro place across from campus...

The Kid had it right, Waffle House is Cheers without the Liquor....Which is why Waffle Houses needs to apply for Liquor licenses

FightingChance 2007-02-04 04:38:20 PM
While I'm not against the Waffle House, I do wish there were more choices in food that doesn't weigh you down. Students sometimes have limited mobility, and they shouldn't be forced to choose between 'bad for you' and 'really bad for you' as far as food goes.

NeverDrunk23 2007-02-04 04:39:27 PM
I wasn't impressed by Waffle House. But then again, I only went once. NJ is completely void of Waffle House. Diners, not a problem though.

/Wouldn't they be happier with a White Castle?
//Or Taco Hell?
///Beer?
////Cracker Barrel...what a stupid name.

I'm really not surprised that U[sic]GA students are demanding a farking waffle house.

So why is the college administration waffling on this issue?

TehLydzz 2007-02-04 04:41:55 PM
I have a waffle machine in my dining hall. I can get a waffle for 49 cents any time I like. Works for me.

Espertron 2007-02-04 04:41:59 PM

Waffle House is some damn good stuff. I don't know if it actually needs to be on campus, if some some entrepreneur wants to open one right outside of campus, heck, more power to 'em. Let the free market decide whether it will be successful or not. Considering that Waffle Houses are open 24/7/365... I can't believe one within walking distance of a college/university campus wouldn't be successful.

/Waffle House rules!!

//Favorite Item: Egg & Bacon Sandwich on Texas Toast with Hash Browns (Scattered, Smothered, Covered, Diced and Peppers).

///Still favors independent restaurants whenever possible.

////I like my slashies scattered, smothered, covered and chunked.

Good luck in dealing with the company that has the current food service contract.

Stupid college students.
They have no idea how business works.
ALl of this stuff is tightly controlled by the administration and is decided years in advance.

Steak And Eggs, Strip, Medium, Scrambled with cheese, scattered, covered and chunked.

Lottolandus 2007-02-04 04:43:16 PM
Genius...There was a Taco Bell lite (not the full menu) on my campus and it had longer lines than anything else. But a 24/7 Waffle House that gave a cut to the university would be a bigger money maker than the overpriced book store.

PopeoftheFCOTB 2007-02-04 04:43:26 PM
I'm sure Georgia Gov. Sonny Perdue could hook them up with a campus Waffle House. I mean, the guy last year held a prom party at the governor's mansion and it was catered by WH.

rickets007 2007-02-04 04:44:13 PM
What is the deal with these Waffle Houses? I always hear about them but I have never seen one. They must have very few if any in Minnesota. WTF? I like waffles and I want some right now!

citizen905 2007-02-04 04:46:05 PM
It would be really convenient for their co-op students.

put a waffle house next to a krispy kreme next to a combo wendy's KFC and you can just prepare those students for the life ahead of them

Somehow, before I read the Red & Black, I knew it HAD to have been my college. UGA, baby!

I looked in to opening a waffle house around Kent State. Unfortunately you need one million is assets and you can't open just one, it has to be four.

catatonicsrus 2007-02-04 04:49:31 PM
I refuse to eat at waffle house ever since I got food poisoning so bad that I was throwing up black dust and s**ting myself every 3 minutes for two days until I eventually had to be checked into the hospital.

/Walking past hot nurses, stumbling towards bathroom with IV connected and s**t running down leg will never let me forgive waffle house.
//F**k waffle house

True Value 2007-02-04 04:50:20 PM
Hash browns...with everything. Scattered, smothered, diced, chunked, etc. including the chili and jalpeno's. Waffle House is the only thing missing in NY.

I still prefer independents, but when you're on the road and need to choose between McD's, Bob's Big Boy, Wendy's, etc. then Waffle House is the place to go IMHO.

Downtown Athens could use a Waffle House. It would probably be one of the most profitable Waffle Houses in the state. Maybe two so the hipsters and the fratboys don't have to fight over tables.

Zingraff 2007-02-04 04:53:02 PM
What is this 'Waffle House' of which you Americans speak? And how soon can we expect it to spread to my native Norway?

The only waffles we have at my campus are the ones given away by the Jesus crowd, as in 'free waffles and a Gideon bible', though sometimes it's just 'free gummy bears and a cup of coffee, and let me tell you about Jesus'.

/haven't had a waffle in years, but your American waffles are probably very different

TheCid 2007-02-04 04:53:11 PM
citizen905: It would be really convenient for their co-op students.

What co-op students? You're talking about U[sic]GA here. The Ramblin' Wrecks from Georgia Tech are the ones that do co-op.

aaarkieboy 2007-02-04 04:54:04 PM
A waffle is a pancake with, well, with waffles in it. What I mean is, it's a waffled pancake. What do you call those indentation things? Those are the actual waffles. The indents.

Look at what has happened to us. We have taken the name of that particular feature (the waffles) and, with the passage of time, we have made that into the name of the thing itself (waffles). We no longer call them waffled pancakes. We just call them waffles.

It's another example of how lazy we have all become. Fat and lazy. Waffles aren't just a syptom. They are the problem.

/We're doomed.

They opened a Huddle House (Waffle House clone) across the street from Western Carolina University's main entrance. I imagine whoever owns that place is raking in the money.

The best thing about Awffle House and Vomelet Shoppe is that they're open at really odd times, like 0300.

Other than that, they're both an evil cardiologist's dream.
