btw, i dont know what i've used in previous searches, but i couldnt find any photos of people in other nations wearing bills, chargers, colts, braves, padres, and others championship shirts from losing seasons..

but for some reason when i search for photoshop source images, i find them like sugar at a candy store... weird

it's always fun to see photos from africa with people wearing "i'm with stupid" t-shirts and mork from ork suspenders.

a while back the NYTs did a neat story about a woman who followed her old shirt through the charity to africa to the guy who picked it off the pile at the rag-seller's and why he did that

You know, I seem to recall the Bears were supposed to lose to the Saints a while back.. whatever happened to that?

They are given to third world countries including Arkansas and Tennessee

Use the shirts as napkins to A)cry into and B)wipe off the bbq sauce and Polish sassage grease from your moustaches.

GO COLTS

Get Roud 2007-02-04 03:06:31 PM
Rather than discarding those made for the losing team, the league now donates them to World Vision, the relief organization that Colleton worked for in Ethiopia for a month, for distribution in places like Niger, Uganda and Sierra Leone. This way, the NFL can help one of its charities and avoid traumatizing one of its teams.

lol

Why is it when I see that Major League Baseball just destroys the runner up t-shirts and hats all I think is...typical?

Shadowknight [recently expired TotalFark] 2007-02-04 03:08:29 PM
Now that I think about it, giving it to third world countries is kind of ironic, since they are most likely the ones who made them in the first place.

Today should be a lovely exhibition between the NFC minor league football Bears and the NFL Colts.

litespeed74 2007-02-04 03:12:02 PM
No team with Rex Grossman should be in the superbowl.
Shows you how good the Bears defense was this season to get home field...
Otherwise things would be WAY different.

There, and only there, the losers get to be winners.

Aww, how trite and insincere.

/good article though; I'm glad to hear those brand new shirts actually get some use.

Hey, dig!

I know how it feels to expect to get a fair shake
But they won't let you forget
That you're the underdog and you've got to be twice as good
(Yeah, yeah)

Even if you're never right
They get uptight when you get too bright
Cause you might start thinking too much
(Yeah yeah)

I know how it feels when you know you're real
But every other time
You get up and get a raw deal
(Yeah yeah)

Say, I'm the underdog
I'm the underdog
Say, I'm the underdog
I'm the underdog

I know how it feels to get demoted
When it comes time you got promoted
But you might be movin' up too fast
(Yeah, yeah)

If you ever loved somebody of a different set
I bet the set didn't let you forget
That it just don't go like that
(Yeah, yeah)

I know how it feels
For people to stop, turn around and stare
So go right, don't rate me
I don't mind

I'm the underdog
No, I can handle it,
I'm the underdog
I'm the underdog, yeah
Underdog

I know how it feels to be played upon
See you at the party
But you're really, you're really all alone
They just underestimate me
(Yeah yeah)

I know how it feels when you're feelin' down
And you wanna come up but you realise
You're in the wrong part of town
(Yeah, yeah)

I know how it feels to have to go along
With people you don't even know
Simply because there happens to be a whole lot more of them
(Yeah, yeah)

Say, I'm the underdog
I'm the underdog
I don't mind, 'cause I can handle it
Underdog, it's gonna be alright
I'm the underdog

GO BEARS!

I'm glad the Steelers won last year - those hats are hideous!

GlassFaerie 2007-02-04 03:14:16 PM
Not only are they dangerous, the Bears have now proven they are Godless killing machines. - Colbert

If the Colts lose, the terrorists have already won. =(

blazemongr 2007-02-04 03:15:07 PM
Being a Bears fan, I'm glad they're the official underdogs. If they lose, everyone will say it was expected of them, while if they win, they overcame fantastic odds against everyone's expectations.

The Colts, on the other hand, can either do exactly what they're expected to do or blow their advantage completely. Big whoop.

MrWhipee 2007-02-04 03:15:24 PM
Bears D will cause at least 4 turnovers, and they'll get a score from the special teams. Not going to predict score, just that the Bears will win.

heywood jablomi 2007-02-04 03:17:11 PM
You know, OSU was favored by ~8 for the championship game. That turned out to be a complete arse whupping.

Any given Sunday should be the rule, and it is worth noting that Manning is now 1-20 in big game, choke-situations.

Perhaps we should be emailing MLB management and requesting they also donate the loser merchandise instead of destroying them for no good reason.

Agree 100%. Plus the Bears' biggest loses came when they were supposed to beat the crap out of mildly retarded teams.

all i can say is e-bay for the kids that get the shirts and they could buy food for their whole village

Submitter here.

Personally, I couldn't give a rat's ass about either team.
I just figured the headline would be more effective on Chicago fans.

In the immortal words of Maverick: "The shot was there and I took it."

Bears 19, Colts 17 in overtime.

In the most anti-climactic Super Bowl ending of all time, Bears win on their second safety of the night (after five Robbie Gould field goals and an Urlacher safety), when the Colts long-snapper airmails one out the back of the end zone. Everybody stands around for a second or two before they figure out what happened.

Oh_Enough_Already 2007-02-04 03:31:30 PM
Benson will knock the crap out of the Colts D, Jones will dash around their battered bodies, and Mike Brown - on crutches and in a cast - will have two interceptions.

And Hester runs one back.

34-28 BEARS but not a "close" game.

P.S.

The field will be mush by half-time.

This not only "favors" the Bears, it all but hamstrings the Colts.

By the end of the game the Colts' uniforms will be mostly green and brown.

Not worried at all.
