WTF! that biatch locked the other employee in the store with the gunman. I understand fleeing, but locking him in with a hostage?!

Robo73 [TotalFark] 2007-01-28 01:46:07 PM
I work retail, and I would DIE before I let someone else.

/they got lucky

Robo73 [TotalFark] 2007-01-28 01:48:25 PM
Yeah, I say that, but if I had the opportunity to get away?

/but lock a coworker in?

sullyman 2007-01-28 01:58:25 PM
Ha ha. Anal rape for a PS3 is a fate worse than death.

From TFA:When arrested, police found that Antuan Blackman had $559 in his pants and $54 in coins in his sweatshirt, Bickham.

He has a sweatshirt named Bickham?

Hal B. Sure 2007-01-28 04:01:50 PM
real shaman beat me to it. I really can't figure out what that is supposed to mean.

who you calling Bickham?

mtylerjr 2007-01-28 05:05:41 PM
I think they meant his sweatshirt had text on in in the Bickham font.

slacker714 2007-01-28 05:06:18 PM
$54 in coins? Seems like that would be a bit heavy if you are trying to make a getaway.....

penguinscanfly81 2007-01-28 05:07:33 PM
Antuan Blackman? Is that his real name?

fruedianslippers 2007-01-28 05:07:51 PM
That would be heavy and noisy. Pockets full of change in a metal air duct?

jordan_lund 2007-01-28 05:09:22 PM
Always trying to keep the Blackman down!

Virulency 2007-01-28 05:14:42 PM

penguinscanfly81: Antuan Blackman? Is that his real name?

Mr. Blackman? This is the first test... I will not call you that.

CitronR 2007-01-28 05:18:19 PM
Wow.. he robbed a store, and only had enough to purchase a PS3. :D

andrew131 [TotalFark] 2007-01-28 05:20:51 PM
Um, what is the headline trying to say? English this time, please.

RInewsPhotog 2007-01-28 05:24:48 PM
I've read that headline 3 times and it seems like a badly worded runon sentence or something or it could just be missing some punctuaction to make it slightly more readable.

Somehow, I think it went down like this:

"MUMMAH! BUUK! Mummah!"

Kirby Muxloe 2007-01-28 05:50:01 PM
FTFA (approximately) "He asked about the PlayStation3..."

Pretty sure we've got the beginnings of an insanity defense right there.

And Mike_Bolton FTW

Officers reviewed the security camera to see where the offender stashed the handgun and found him hiding in the air duct.

Suspect in question.

therumblefish 2007-01-28 06:03:46 PM
I'm still trying to get over the fact that the one employee locked his coworker in the store with an armed thief. I understand wanting the bad guy to get caught, but risking someone elses life to do it makes them either an idiot or a douche.

Fortunately the robber decided to hide instead of turn the situation into a standoff.

Kar98 2007-01-28 06:07:36 PM
Blackman, please.

Amigajoe [TotalFark] 2007-01-28 06:07:41 PM
-Why would the cops have to review the tape to find the guy if an employee was there with him? He didn't notice him climbing into an air duct?

That punk is lucky he didn't suffer Acts of Gord on his head.

Nimisha 2007-01-28 06:26:44 PM
SKA-T73: /too obscure?

Seeing as I was quoting that even as a 6 year old, I doubt it

Amigajoe: Why would the cops have to review the tape to find the guy if an employee was there with him? He didn't notice him climbing into an air duct?

That's what I was trying to figure out.

Mor Beal 2007-01-28 06:32:19 PM
Obviously the suspect had just played hours of Doom, Quake and Half-Life, if he thought hiding in the air ducts would work...

Sim Tree [TotalFark] 2007-01-28 06:49:00 PM
I think they're trying to say "bickham said" at the end, since the previous paragraph ended in "Bickham said".

Cosmic Crab, love the Gord, fear the Gord.

studebaker hoch 2007-01-28 06:53:51 PM
His first mistake was letting the employees live.

If you're going to commit a crime, do it for real.

40oz_A_Knight 2007-01-28 07:15:40 PM
Antuan Blackman? Dude, they could've nailed this guy on probability alone.

othan1 2007-01-28 07:17:49 PM
Now I'm curious. Charged with "unlawful use of a firearm by a felon". Does this mean there's a lawful use of a firearm by a felon?

Why don't they just charge "use of a firearm by a felon"?

technicolor-misfit 2007-01-28 07:22:42 PM

Seriously...

That's exactly what jumped out at me too. I'd even go so far as to bet that getting the robber captured wasn't her first priority, but rather she was just attempting to get her own sorry hide safely away from him.

Either way, it was stupid and dangerous and showed little thought as to what an enraged armed robber may have done to her co-worker.

What a biatch.

Must be a slow news week in Chicago if the journalists have to make up stories, Bickham.

legion_of_doo 2007-01-28 08:01:54 PM
Suspect in question.

And the Policemen had big exclamation marks over their head.

/should have hidden under a big cardboard box

Ahh, that's what the attorney does. Sweep it under the rug. Blame it on Bickham.

Who did Mr. Blackman rob to get the $559 in cash and the $54 in coin? He got to the PS3 before the register and got spooked in the game store.

lord_spap-oop 2007-01-28 08:41:16 PM
Well, the employee who escaped locked the other one in the store with the robber... BECAUSE SHE DIDN'T LIKE HIM!! "Hee hee, good luck, sucker!"

Abox 2007-01-28 08:54:40 PM
"Robber worried about the security system of game store busted when cops review the tape to find his hiding place"

The problem with the headline is that it's a non-sequitor with ironic cadence.

MOHWowbagger 2007-01-28 09:01:18 PM
Real Shaman

I came in to ask the same question. Peculiar indeed, but hey, maybe over the years he's come to rely on Bickham as a friend and accomplice.

BMFPitt 2007-01-28 10:29:48 PM
If you're gonna rob somebody for a PS3, you should have done it on launch day when you could have actually resold it.
