Er, sorry, but gynomastia is a real medical condition where feminine breast tissue is found under the male nipple. This article really makes it sound like some one is just fat, but it has nothing at all to do with weight. Irasponsible journalism? I have half of gynaecomastia. My left side of my chest has a moob while my right side is flat. I'm also rather skinny so weight has nothing to do with it (nor puberty, since that should be done with already...)

My gravestone will read: Some guys get two boobs. I had one.

The other aspect to this, unmentioned in TFA, is that many, many women who don't need their boobies enlarged get the operation because they think it's what men want. My wife's a B-cup and I like them just fine; I think the Pam Anderson look is grotesque.

Newsflash: gynecomastia is not fat and is not caused by diet, unless your diet includes either large amounts of soy (estrogen), or you just can't seem to stop shooting up those damn synthetic anabolic steroids.

I'd say read and learn, but that's probably beyond some people.

I should say, though, that the article itself is so poorly written that it frequently seems to confuse liposuction for excess body fat with surgery to remove breast tissue in males caused by gynecomastia (which is not fat).

1) That's a hypothesis, not a theory.

2) Moobs are caused by being fat, not tap water.

I appreciate all the doctors weighing in with their expert opinions that "moobs" are caused only by being overweight, and telling everyone to put down the fork. There's a difference between having "moobs" because you are fat, and gynecomastia. I had gynecomastia At 5'10", 170lbs, and about 12% bodyfat. I had never smoked pot or used soy protein, and my hormone tests came back perfectly normal. I dieted down to 160 lbs. That's about 6% body fat, which is very low - likely lower than everyone in this thread who has told gynecomastia sufferers to "put down the fork". There was no difference. This caused a lot of self-esteem issues for me, as you could expect, so I opted to have it corrected with minor surgery.
