Was the first run at this show that successful that they are going to do it again? I guess the winner (and I use that term very loosely) from the first season needs a sidekick.

Man-Faye?

Omis 2007-01-28 01:10:19 PM
Wake me when there's a super-villain tryout.

At least they showed the chick instead of the spandex guys.

Omis is right.

Supervillains > Superheroes

I heard about this on the radio yesterday when I was driving around...they interviewed a guy who drove down from Houston to try out as Gamma Man. He wanted me to make sure everyone understood he wasn't wearing tights.

I should have gone over to take pictures, but I just couldn't bring myself to go to Ingram Park Mall.

CravenMorehead: Does she have a couple sisters wearing the "W" and the "T"?

Yes, but building management couldn't let that much weight be in one place at one time, it would compromise the structure's integrity.

What, no Mystery Men references yet?

As an aside, GOD HELP US if she pulls up on that spandex in the front.

The resulting camel toe could probably devour a normal person.

Actually, what Gambit does is channel the potential energy of any object into explosive kinetic energy.

What Spayde apparantly does is far more similar to Bullseye, an enemy of Daredevil.

My superpower would be to manipulate sound. I would have some sort of device like a tape recorder to make certain effects easier. Such as a low-pitched boom button to amplify and knock out opponents.

However, that would have more applications in the super-villian realm than as a hero.

/barring that, i'd use my normal superpowers of cunnilingus.

This just makes me wish they would seriously make a live-action Venture Bros.

They could do it! Via the magic of dubbing!

/would really like to see a real-life Monarch

the first season was all down hill after they made them run through a yard getting attacked by dogs. granted they had a dog suit on. but it was still hilarious.

and the fact that everyone took themselves so seriously while wearing spandex I mean come on how can you beat that. full grown men crying while wearing a neon blue spandex suit.

Um, anyone can channel potential energy into kinetic energy - it's called "dropping things".

The problem with the first season was they had enough material for maybe 15 minutes in each episode, but they padded it out with bad editing, and frequent commercial breaks that always started on a cliffhanger, whether there was a point to it or not.

And WTF is with this "reality" cliche that the game show host can't perform his hosting duties in the same room as the contestants? Stan Lee was by far the worst about it in this show talking through a TV, but it infects so many others (not all, but you know what I'm talking about. "You've got Mayo")

The Flying Camel 2007-01-28 02:43:12 PM
I thought the first season was pretty amusing... What's not to love about a male stripper turned pseudo-super-hero, that guy was hilarious. The dude who ended up winning was pretty funny to watch as well but, that's because of how large of a tool he was, daddy issues with comic books make good comedy...
