That is the greatest cat related thing I have seen on TF. That cat looks so pissed in the end.

Hey, this went green. Awesome. I just have to add, as a business proposition this 'Kitty Spa' is seriously flawed, because it's only ever going to work once on any particular cat.

I'm sorry cat lovers, I'm not a cruel man but that made me laugh harder than anything I've seen in a while.

Snake939 2007-01-25 11:21:26 PM
I love the cat's reaction to the initial weak jets of water popping up.

From the pet washing machine manufacturer's website:

Does the pet Stress out when inside the Cabin?

Using our unique technology we are able to lower the stress on pets compared to traditional bathing due to the fact that we do not use a restraining system and there is no stranger restraining or holding the pet. Also our unique patented nozzle system will provide a hydro-massage shower that will relax the pet and increase circulation which is very beneficial.

Riiiiiight.

Terrible. Just mean.

GallopingGoulash [TotalFark] 2007-01-25 11:44:36 PM
That's cruel as hell.

If you want to bathe your cat, it needs to be introduced to water as a kitten. Give it a bath as soon as possible after it's weaned. This will show your pet that water is not to be feared, and will make future bathings a whole bunch easier.

Same applies if you want to take your kitty for a ride in the car. Early exposure to riding will let it know that being away from home is not a threat to his safety.

DandamanFL [TotalFark] 2007-01-25 11:47:06 PM
I can't believe it is a commercial concern. You have to figure that is just about every cat's reaction to that. I gotta find one and hang out.

FuturePastNow [TotalFark] 2007-01-25 11:49:42 PM
It's like water bondage for pets. If I put my fatass cat through that, he'd have a heart attack.

Damn, that's just wrong. How is that not completely stressful for the cat? While it was amusing, there's no way in hell I'd stick my cat in that thing.

maniacbastard [TotalFark] 2007-01-26 12:12:15 AM
I have two cats and two dogs. The cats never need to be bathed they seem to take care of themselves. The dogs on the other hand....

So why the hell do you even need a machine like that unless you are a sadist.

Ok, actually that is a good enough reason, nevermind.

I like cats and all, but that video had my side splitting. I was just imagining what that cat was thinking...

My cat-owning (and cat loving) colleagues weren't amused :D

I'm definitely a cat person but i couldn't help laughing out loud when i watched that. Does that make me evil? >O)

As others have said; I'd never ever do that to my cat if i had one.

Toriko [TotalFark] 2007-01-26 07:39:01 AM
The only time you would need to wash a cat is if it got into something semi-toxic, like car oil or paint, or if it had fleas. Now-a-days you just give them that squeezy tube thing for fleas, so not even then.

The Original Demson 2007-01-26 07:40:30 AM
I'm not a cruel man but that made me laugh harder than anything I've seen in a while.

Why would that make you laugh harder then anything, if you're not a cruel man?

Claustophobia and waterhosing are commonly used as a torture technique. And a very effective one at that.

Laugh all you want but this is animal cruelty. If you find it funny, I'm fine with that, but it's still animal cruelty.

Stupid Fat Hobbit: I just have to add, as a business proposition this 'Kitty Spa' is seriously flawed, because it's only ever going to work once on any particular cat.

No kidding. After that experience my cats would shred me to pieces if they even approached the thing.

Or the cat carrier.

Or the car.

Or the door.

thedarkshadow 2007-01-26 09:50:18 AM
Bah.

Next time fling it in the dishwasher. Regular cycle. Pot scrubber if it's really dirty.
When finished, put it in the dryer on Cotton/High for 70 minutes, or alternatively spin it around in a wide circle getting most of the water off, making sure to twist it really good to wring out most of the water. Then hang it out on the line for a couple of hours.

Your cat will come out smelling fresh and new.

Not true. If you bathe your cat regularly, people that are allergic to cats won't be bothered by them.

Is that actually true? I think I have heard that before. I don't own a cat. That is one reason. Severe allergies. I have 2 dogs, but they don't bother me that much. They need a bath. I wonder if that would work on them.

carmody 2007-01-26 11:19:43 AM
Oh, man...I was just imagining what my cats would do. I laughed until tears came watching this. Awesome.

ckessel 2007-01-26 11:33:52 AM
That might be one of the saddest, most cruel things I've ever seen done to a pet. The cat was absolutely terrified. I can't believe any pet owner would subject a pet they love to something like that.
