That's sad. Colbert used to be good. Now he's turning preachy like Stewart did.

The audience isn't laughing at jokes. They're cheering and hollering because they like the political commentary.

I was going to say the same thing. I don't who said that, but if your audience is cheering more than they are laughing, then you are pandering, not doing comedy.

I still LOL'd, but that's because I'd be one of the ones in the audience there cheering.

"Global climate change" is the scientifically preferred term, not global warming. For once Bush is right, not Colbert.

stewart and colbert do political satire folks, of course they're talking about politics. what kind of comedy do you want them to do? viewers of the daily show and colbert report have been shown to be more educated about the issues and active than viewers of mainstream news. even if you don't think it's funny, what there doing is definitely a good thing.

ManilaRyce needs to review correlation/causation.

Your homework for tonight can be found at Princeton Review, you're looking for "hard-hitting, side splitting."

That was both funny and insightful. Anyone who thinks his audience shouldn't be cheering is a poophead. The man's a farking comic genius with a wit to match. He deserves praise. Colbert never pretended his show wasn't partisan. It's always been a mockery of the right and a celebration of the left. Anyone who didn't notice that until now hasn't been paying attention.

For fark's sake, he preached during the first farking season of his show. He's always been preachy. Just say what you really mean: he's funnier than John Stewart so his preachiness is easier to swallow (as he put it, it's the sugar that gets his medicine into the system).

Colbert is a partisan hack pandering to get whoops and applause, Stewart is funny because he dogs both sides. Its funny to see him rip on the dems and the audience just sit there trying to figure out if they should laugh or not.
