It is New Jersey. They are probably trying to be proactive to prevent a carjacking.

Infobahn: It is New Jersey> Trenton, New Jersey. They are probably trying to be proactive to prevent a carjacking.

there, fixed it for you.

/lives in New jersey, the entire state is not Camden.

only 10 steps to go from RI to that location.. weird

NoseBrain [TotalFark] 2007-01-21 10:39:08 PM
As Carl might say, friggin awesome. I haven't laughed that hard at a link in awhile.

Redhead Buttercup 2007-01-21 10:57:20 PM
Huh, and I thought that navigating around Louisville could be a pain. Oh wait, that's just because of the drivers.

This is a very funny link.

willywanka 2007-01-21 10:58:00 PM
in all fairness, here in NJ, we all just pace around in circles all day, complaining about things in a loud tone and comical accent, while our big-haired girlfriend follow us around sobbing and yelling "Toooonnnyyy!!!", even if that's not our name.

japhy 2007-01-21 11:09:19 PM
That's hilarious.

Don't forget to make a U-turn.

geetus 2007-01-22 03:56:10 AM
Was that a U-turn at 299 feet or 289 feet?

It'd be funny to go out & follow these directions. Show them to the cop when you get pulled over & tell him you're running late.

DodgerOfZion 2007-01-22 03:59:34 AM
That's only half the U-Turns you make on NJ Routes 70 and 73 just to turn the fark around.

evaned 2007-01-22 03:59:51 AM
That's hilarious.

Anyone notice that they're having you make U-Turns on what looks from the satellite pictures to be a limited access part of US 1?

Driving over the median would be SURE to attract cop attention.

Adams7303 2007-01-22 04:01:50 AM
Hitting the reverse directions makes for a set of directions of only 8 steps.

SmackLT [TotalFark] 2007-01-22 04:02:18 AM
Maybe the map setting was on "Zamboni"

evaned 2007-01-22 04:03:43 AM
And furthermore, the U-turns don't happen. If you click on successive steps, you keep moving in the same direction.

So it's not a problem with Google's route-finding algorithm, it's a problem with the direction production algorithm.)

yourmothersbox 2007-01-22 04:04:23 AM
That is great, unless you are trying to get somewhere.

F**k g**gle.

SmackLT [TotalFark] 2007-01-22 04:05:53 AM
Even when I was at my most lost, when I truly had no idea where I was, which direction was which, I have never had any path that involved 241 U-turns.

I'm pretty sure I would have thrown up.

gitsh01 2007-01-22 04:07:07 AM
Oh my god this is funny.

Not trying to threadjack, but has anyone else been driven demented by that Flash video ad with the 4 girls 'dancing'?

Check out u-turn #35, you'd be wishing all you had to go through was a median for that one.

loupismcw 2007-01-22 04:19:12 AM
Anybody else load this into Google Earth and get extremely disappointed with the results when you hit "Play Tour?"

black_knight 2007-01-22 04:22:38 AM
That's Jersey for you.

Katn 2007-01-22 04:25:55 AM
These directions are for planning purposes only. You may find that construction projects, traffic, or other events may cause road conditions to differ from the map results.

One could hope...

Yes, and despite the hot bods - it's really irritating.

Adobe sould let people turn off sound in Flash.

retrosteve 2007-01-22 04:38:09 AM
Amazingly, clicking "get reverse directions" gives a path with only 8 instructions. Reversing again goes back to all the U-turns.

This is hilarious and I wish Google Earth would let us try it. Link makes for great laughs, fun at parties, break the ice with girlz.

evaned 2007-01-22 04:40:47 AM
fha: Adobe sould let people turn off sound in Flash.

Firefox + Flashblock! Causes all Flash animations to not display immediately, but just show a box that you can click to load them. (It used to be called "Flash click-to-play".) You can also set it to always load flash from certain sites.

AdBlock and others will work too, but Flashblock is a great, fairly-directed solution.

/Installed it because of noisy ads
//And ads taking 100% cpu

I live in Trenton (pronounced Tren'n) and those directions are absolutely accurate. That's the route I used to take to work...umm.. before I got fired.

phiwings: the entire state is not Camden

Yeah, I tell people We have mountaints, wonderful pine forests, one or two nice beaches that haven't been ruined by garbage-people and even a small desert-like expanse, but nobody believes Me.

The weird part is, they don't even show up on the map. Even if you click the little number to see the picture, it looks like you keep going straight.

wildcardjack 2007-01-22 06:26:33 AM
I find that blocking the majority of ad-servers with a modified host file works better than all the little programs and tools.

it NJ, the crappiest state in the union.

You can't Farkin' make left turns in NJ!

davel23 2007-01-22 06:38:23 AM
This is Google Maps, NJ edition. They use "U-turn" to represent all the times you have to stop and do doughnuts in roadside parking lots.

It doesn't matter. U-turns are mostly illegal in Pennsylvania. I still feel slightly guilty whenever I make one.

Why does NJ hate NASCAR?
