Well, she does hear more cases.

Fine by me. We're not paying HER salary.

The Supreme Court doesn't make a lot of money for a television network.

On the bright side, Judge Judy can be fired if her ratings drop. So the Supreme Court's got that going for it. Which is nice.

Don't pee on my leg, and tell me it's irony!

also the only one out of the 10 that doesn't have their head in their ass. except that one judge that admitted the suprmeme court was basically a failure.

On the other hand, the lowest clerk for any of the members of the Supreme Court has several orders of magnitude more influence on the country than does Judge Judy.

/Judge Constance Harm on the other hand, has complete control

Anyone know if judge judy is a real judge? On her show, is she presiding over an actual court of law? Or is it all a sham? Because I've got to think that she would be disbarred in an instant if it was all real.

It's all real. And everyone on Boston Legal are real lawyers, and Gilligan was a real sailor. Proof: google "Donald Trump," you'll see he actually owns real businesses.

She *was* an actual judge for many years; however her TV show is more specifically an arbitration. As I understand it, the plaintiff and the defendant both sign a waiver saying that they agree to be bound by the terms of the arbitration, which isn't technically a legal court. This means that while she usually rules based on legal principles, she can at any moment just lose it and rule based on the color of the defendant's clothes, or the weather, or what she had for lunch. This makes for more interesting television than would be the case if it was all based on a strict interpretation of law.

Yeah, that's standard procedure for these shows. They're binding arbitration. So, in a sense, it is indeed real.

Judge Judy was a real judge. She worked in New York Family Court and Children's Court for a decade.
