Eat More Possum [TotalFark] 2006-08-27 07:32:36 PM
Quit reading when I saw Boy George listed.

rhiannon [TotalFark] 2006-08-27 07:43:53 PM
Robbie Williams is on the list, but Jimmy Page is not. I don't like this list one bit.

I didn't get past number 3. "Great" at going on holiday, biatching to the press, and ignoring her kids.

Eat More Possum [TotalFark] 2006-08-27 07:47:44 PM
jay_vee: I didn't get past number 3.

Agreed. Never have understood the infatuation of the Princess Di saga.

JerseyTim [TotalFark] 2006-08-27 07:51:01 PM
Princess Diana is #3, ahead of Darwin, Shakespeare and Newton. What a country.

This list is from 2002. Right now, my vote would go to Mike Skinner.

LandStander [TotalFark] 2006-08-27 08:24:33 PM
John, Paul, George, but not Ringo? How rude!

/knows Ringo is laughing all the way to the bank

melodium [TotalFark] 2006-08-27 08:44:47 PM
Other than this list being totally offensive in every way.. (Thomas Paine is below David Beckham??) Umm... Wasn't Alexander Graham Bell American?

Nah. Scottish. Moved to the US as an adult.

Bonanza Jellybean 2006-08-27 09:06:52 PM
Lord Nelson, Shakespeare, and Churchill are the only ones I can think of.

/undereducated American

GavinTheAlmighty 2006-08-27 09:06:54 PM
Without reading this list, I will say that Churchill is #1. Time to check it.

Epsilon [TotalFark] 2006-08-27 09:06:54 PM
Princess Diana #3? She wasn't even royalty until she married into it, and she outranks everyone who was born into it? Weird.

Waffen 2006-08-27 09:07:36 PM
fark Winston, he was a bastard. Yeah, let's "Gas all of Germany" because that will prove how morally superior you are to Hitler alright.

Coriantumr 2006-08-27 09:07:39 PM
C'mon, Britons! We want that trifecta!

Bonanza Jellybean 2006-08-27 09:07:43 PM
Nice! Aleister Crowley made the list.

/do what thou wilt...

Souzouryoku 2006-08-27 09:07:52 PM
Is Keira Knightley a Brit?

Doomgaze 2006-08-27 09:08:05 PM
Who are the Britons?

N. S. Radieaux 2006-08-27 09:08:24 PM
Not. One. Single. Python.

Dinty Moore's Law 2006-08-27 09:08:25 PM

Waffen 2006-08-27 09:08:38 PM
I can't believe Drake scores below Lennon.

logic523 2006-08-27 09:09:00 PM
We all are. We are all Britons. And I am your king.

BenitoLupito 2006-08-27 09:09:10 PM
I liked that David Bowie was better than Charles Dickens.

DayBreakBoys17 2006-08-27 09:09:36 PM
I am willing to bet Princess Di(e) is on this stupid list.

Way to look pretty for the camera's princess. You did a lot for the world.

worthless

DrDad 2006-08-27 09:09:39 PM
Lennon over McCartney?
As if!

!

HeathSteele 2006-08-27 09:09:42 PM
jay_vee: Actually, he moved to Canada when he was 23 then went to teach in the States a few years later.

By the way, this list blows. Condorman is on the list but John Cleese isn't? Whiskey Tango Foxtrot.

skinink 2006-08-27 09:09:59 PM
No Benny Hill ? Man, I can hear "Yakkety Sax" playing right now.

Randall Flagg 2006-08-27 09:09:59 PM
Princess Diana, what the Hell?

The only thing she did was marry royalty and die spectacularly.

junkevil 2006-08-27 09:10:21 PM
i can't believe WafeenSS' mother is letting him stay up this late.

Coriantumr 2006-08-27 09:10:41 PM
Oh my gosh. Princess Di outranks Charles Darwin, William Shakespeare, Isaac Newton, and Queen Elizabeth I?

What the FARK were they smoking when they came up with that??

DrDad 2006-08-27 09:10:42 PM
LandStander, Ringo is laughing all the way to being-alive.

GavinTheAlmighty 2006-08-27 09:10:47 PM
Heh, I was right. Here are my complaints:

- Wikipedia?
- #10 Oliver Cromwell (1599-1658), Lord Protector
Yeah, maybe if you're not Irish
- John Lennon above Stephen Hawking? fark, get over yourself
- #35. Boudicca was a biatch

fark it, the list would be too long. That's a pretty crappy list.

Waffen 2006-08-27 09:11:11 PM
junkevil, I can't believe you figured out how to turn on the computer.

DrDad enjoys mccartneys intellectual lyrics and catchy jingles.

LetsGo 2006-08-27 09:11:54 PM
George Washington
and
Katie Price.

End of discussion.

GavinTheAlmighty 2006-08-27 09:11:54 PM

And popularize (for many) the fight against AIDS and land mines.

Not a single dentist among them....

moltov 2006-08-27 09:12:37 PM

AuntNotAnt [TotalFark] 2006-08-27 09:13:41 PM
Old.

Also, too many musicians. Some Irishmen, who I don't think would want to be called British. And at least one - Freddie - isn't really British.

/P.S. FARK CROMWELL.

Penis Mightier 2006-08-27 09:14:07 PM
Whoa, the #1 of 100 Britons is half American.

Strega 2006-08-27 09:14:28 PM
No C.S. Lewis? Wha?

Waffen 2006-08-27 09:14:43 PM
junkevil, I feel sorry for your mother and sister.

Now put your helmet back on like a good boy and hop on the short bus.

Not. One. Single. Python.

King Arthur is there. Not for nothing, I thought he was a fictional character. If you are going to add fictional characters, lets add Edmund Blackadder.

I stand corrected. I looked it up, too, and for some reason didn't twig that Ontario isn't actually in the States. I know it, but didn't make the connection.

Sorry Ontarionians.

I'm an American, some of my family living here has been traced back to 1676. But Princess Diana number 3? I also wonder why besides being born in England that Thomas Paine would be listed. He wrote Common Sense pamphlets during the American Revolution and was an agitator for revolution and American independence.

worldbeater 2006-08-27 09:15:56 PM
Well, it goes to show that America doesn't have a monopoly on worship of useless people.
