so men acting like real men makes the news now?

Baron-Harkonnen 2006-08-13 10:58:21 PM
Apparently I missed the metrosexual revolution, cause I've been in caveman mode since birth.

towatchoverme 2006-08-13 10:58:24 PM
We had this discussion last week. It ended with people whapping their tallywhackers down on the table. It was not pretty, i warn you now.

bullock. 2006-08-13 10:58:37 PM
The author has no farking sense of self. Swayed by what he perceives to be an expectation of him, he whines online.

Jesus, dude, quit looking to others to cue your own self-worth.

/ex-therapist.

DeadintheShadows 2006-08-13 10:58:49 PM
A Renaissance man was a man who was intelligent, poetic, artistic, and a warrior. Sounds alright to me if that's what they mean.

/Didn't rtfa.

Sohta 2006-08-13 10:58:59 PM
Real men don't follow trends.

I am a real man, but only when I'm online.

Now where did I leave my beer and the remote control?

VTSquire 2006-08-13 11:00:06 PM
I swear to god if metrosexuality comes back, ima shoot somebody.

cakestick 2006-08-13 11:00:19 PM
Whatever, pussy. Learn how to write and leave me out of your confusion.

See? Retrosexual is the new.. well.. black i guess. Damn.

/MAN LAW!

Jedoc 2006-08-13 11:01:29 PM
He left out the most important part of all these "real man" movements: if you change yourself in order to fit the ideal set forth in fashion magazines and talk shows, you end up catching the sort of woman who lives her life according to what fashion magazines and talk shows tell her to do.

Mor Pheus 2006-08-13 11:01:33 PM
Well holy farking christ. So now I'm finally in fashion, and I didn't even have to try.

Come get some, ladies.

featherspy 2006-08-13 11:01:45 PM
Seen this article every 18 months for the past 11 years everytime they drag it back up.

Well, in spirit anyways.

fishrockcarving [TotalFark] 2006-08-13 11:01:48 PM
When out walking without clothes, I looked like Birnham wood marching on Dunsinane.

I don't even have to know what the hell that means to know that anybody who said it is no position to tell me anything about being a man.

palmettobugsbunnyrabbitpunchdrunk 2006-08-13 11:02:04 PM
Wow. I couldn't get past the fugly mug short of the author. He so doesn't speak on my behalf. And, no, I didn't RTFA. The British don't deserve that out of me.

I think this is the most "British" sentence I will read all year:

I looked like Birnham wood marching on Dunsinane.

Cept... Birnham were tree's.. i think..

I dunno Sounds crap to me.

just be yourself, fark society.. its farked up anyhow.

Ghettoceleb 2006-08-13 11:06:05 PM
"Menaissance" sounds like the name of a gay club.

xlbrooklyn [TotalFark] 2006-08-13 11:08:14 PM
Any male who beings his article with "Oh, dear." is not - and will never be - a man.

ManBearPig 2006-08-13 11:08:24 PM
"Retrosexual"? No thanks.

ExCowboyX 2006-08-13 11:09:54 PM
I'm all for this "Menaissance" -- except for the gay name. Why not apply a manly title for the history books? Why not "The Masculinist Revolution" or even "The Charles Atlas Resurgence?"

Bicycle safety tip 2006-08-13 11:10:13 PM
If you use words like "mennaisance" and "retrosexual" in a non-sarcastic context, you've already disqualified yourself from making any statements about "the role of real men".

farking gay.

bloody_dO_gooders 2006-08-13 11:13:44 PM
So, women are going back to the kitchen and tending to the children while men work and 'bring home the bacon'?

/if not, meh
//menaissance, my ass

fishrockcarving [TotalFark] 2006-08-13 11:14:19 PM
seithon I think he's paraphrasing shakespear's machbeth.

If so, that is not the best Shakespeare to quote.

Strong, masculine, confident and kind never goes out of style guys.

/Am I right ladies?

I'm much more happy when I'm with a guy that acts like a MALE, than one that steals my make-up and cries more than I do.

this is a paid article by Crispin Porter to support their Miller campaign. No way the Herald came up with "Menaissance" by themselves.

I haven't heard the word tallywhacker in forever.

I think that any man who patterns his behavior after what is fasionable, doesn't deserve to be called a man at all.
C'mon: metro, retro, uber... What kind of moron comes up with this crap? Who are the tools who really care?

Johnny Golgotha 2006-08-13 11:19:58 PM
Don't let the media tell you what it means to "be a man". Look between your legs. If you have balls with hair on them, bingo, you're a man. Just be yourself, and by definition, that's what a man does.

It doesn't matter if you're a soldier or a poet. Doesn't matter if you use moisturizer and hair products, or if you can pick bits of yesterday's lunch out of your beard. Just treat other people with respect, and when you're on your deathbed, be able to say you left some part of the world in a better state then when you found it.

Then you can be proud of being a man.

Huh, none so far. Too bad, it's usually quite entertaining.
