Liche: Oh, they won't make the finals.

They just might....they're spending all of the Cricket Karma on the Cup it seems. Has anyone been following the disastrous performances against Sri Lanka?

williehorton 2006-06-28 08:06:45 AM
It's a good thing Russia's out of the finals already... they'd be out of vodka by now.

So that's how it becomes interesting to watch.

During the last Euro Cup, the Royal Navy was in town. Many of those on liberty visited our bar for the game. 200 or so of them drank 8 kegs in about two hours.
Amazing

"England's World Cup fans are drinking Germany dry"

I drink Canada Dry. I've never heard of Germany Dry.

germ78 2006-06-28 08:14:01 AM
Heh, they may actually have to start drinking the Buttweiper Budweiser after all.

WolfinPHX 2006-06-28 08:15:17 AM
BillCo: We could ship them a couple of tankers full of Coors Budweiser.

Fixed that for you. After all, that pisswater is the offical beer of FIFA.

My experience when I did an exchange in University in France:

The French drink to be social.

North Americans drink to get drunk.

The English drink to projectile vomit.

clevershark 2006-06-28 08:17:17 AM
germ78: Heh, they may actually have to start drinking the Budweiser after all.

They'll have to, once they run out of beer.

WolfinPHX: that pisswater is the offical beer of FIFA.

Sure, and the US is the fifth-ranked team in the world acc. to the same organization...

FTA: His bar at a fans' tent in the city ran out after they drained all 32 of his 50-litre (11 gallon) barrels.

Sounds like a small kegger at a US university. And 16 gallons is a half barrel here too.

I'm guessing that England + best beer / lager in the world = vomit and moons.

I'm in love with that petite blonde lass.

germ78

I agree, mind you us Brits are used to Pint glasses do one of those every 15-20 mins if you are chatting, now increase the glass size but maintain the drinking recepticle / min speed and you have a got a recipe for being bolloxed.

maderlock 2006-06-28 08:29:02 AM
Thankyou, BigW, I hereby award you with one of my very rare and entirely collectable LOLs (collect them all and send only $20 to an unspecified address to be sent the special edition ROTFPVomitting), because I did and now my colleagues are giving my funny looks. And some of them are German. And Russian. Actually, I'm the only English one here. Perhaps I won't show them this after all.

MinkeyMan 2006-06-28 08:29:15 AM
Lucky the Czechs got knocked out... highest per capita beer consumption is the world. The fact that a beer in the Czech Republic costs about 60 cents helps.

maderlock 2006-06-28 08:31:17 AM
megram, I seem to remember that the standard size in Germany is the 1/2 litre, rather similar to a pint. If you get a whole litre Stein, then it's a bit warm and flat by the end. Unless you are a speed drinker, but then that's dull and vomitous.

finally the brits get their revenge for "double u double u two" and overpriced luxury sedans

I see ya, only she's not petite - it's that enormous German jug of beer that's dwarfing her

I think England deserves a img.fark.com tag for this one.

megram 2006-06-28 08:32:18 AM
And they invented Budweiser

germ78: I will give props to England for drinking Germany out of beer though... that can't be easy.

During my orientation for my assignment at Rammstein, I was told that I could not drink all the beer in Germany, that better men than I had tried and that I should not make the attempt. It seems they were wrong.

Fark yeah. Here's to you, formerly thirsty drunk limey soccer hoolagans! And here's to you, comicly baffled but utterly hospitible beer providing host Germans!

EMBO: Who is that creature in the dirndl on the right? Have her bathed and sent to my chambers. With beer.

Daedulus 2006-06-28 08:32:52 AM
The bartender was paraphrasing Churchill. I thought we were allowed to mention the war?

"Never in the field of human conflict was so much owed by so many to so few"

bubbaprog [TotalFark] 2006-06-28 08:36:25 AM
I live with an Englishman, well, Englishwoman, I guess. We've been going to the pub in South Tampa to watch all the games, and every game I've seen more and more crazy England fans. There were hundreds there for the Ecuador match. And yeah, I've not seen drinking like that even in my days in Athens, Ohio.

$2 pints of Beck's help. MacDinton's is the place!

reed 2006-06-28 08:39:24 AM
I like Nando's...though I haven't made it to the sauce all the way on the right.

Isn't there a law in Britain requiring a pub on every corner? I was in Ireland earlier this year and I think they required a minimum of two per town.

/the two bookends are teh hawt
//the middle one may need a few pints in me
///drank 10 pints of Guiness in 3 hours, didn't feel great the next day
////needed to take a slashies!

Teutonic_Knight 2006-06-28 08:43:37 AM
I will be drinking some Konig Ludwig for the next game I watch. Germans, you make the BEST beer!

Spanky McLapdance 2006-06-28 08:44:46 AM
I'm watching the match in a Portuguese bar this weekend, I just hope we don't have to barricade the place.

\I think I'll wear my Belgium strip for minimal confrontation and maximum beer drinking.
