Having said that-- I couldn't have made it...

It's nice to see that some games don't mind suspending rules such as physics (friction, wind, etc) when creating a projectile game.

Hey it's not bad for a first try. Simple mechanics, no excessive shiat, objective is easily understood. Nice job.

Only a certain number of shots are displayed on the screen, even when you hold the space bar down :-/

I got a null pointer exception while trying to load an image. Does this require Java 2, because all I have is 1.1.8.

i could see a million white collar executives sitting around behind closed doors for about 10 minutes playing this before doing something else. maybe even mass emailing it to their friends and family.

Crashed my browser (Opera), that startup noise is useless and loud as fark, sound when you lose is dull and repetitive, angles are poorly contolled, and it's pretty much boring.

Hey, you asked for beta test, I gotta be honest.

I was assualted by 10 guys in green pajamas (a heart stopping experience), but my automatic motor cannon sent them back to hell from whence they came. Then, for some reason, a 3 minute cease fire ensued. Unfortunately, that little green soldier guy will never know the war was over.

In any case, I think the game would get more exposure if the enemy had turbans. Heh...

I like how the guys legs move, reminds me of an Atari game.
And for people who are too stupid to understand what I am saying, I like it.

Pretty cool. Reminds me of an Apple II game called "Sabatage". There if you shot the parachutists, they might land on the foot soldiers, killing one.

Good.... but.... why does the mortar bend? that doesn't seem right... i can't help but think that i'm using my trusty bendable penis to fire gallstones at random guys :|

Also, the mortar doesn't cover the whole screen. that should either be changed or the guys should shoot you once they get out of range of the mortar, just to speed things up.

When I lost the game (during stage 2), the "you got killed" gunfire sound kept playing for a split second and starting over; it didn't play the whole sound until I hit the back button.

Also, you can hit a guy in the face and it goes through him. That might be a bug.

I played a game like that once before. On the first MAC. Cute. Nifty game. Keep it up.
The morter needs a sound effect. A kinda "THOOMP" sound.

Woo! Someone else who remembers Sabatoge! The first 3 sucessful paratroopers form a step beside your turret and the 4th will climb the step and blow up your turret. ^_^

Umm.. many of you seem confused as to how to aim a mortar.. the HIGHER the degree of elevation the CLOSER the round will land to you.. the mortar covers almost the entire field... yeesh..

That being said, I still suck at it and got overwhelmed..

Mad Ogre: i remember that old mac game too, was it armor alley? that was the only game besides tristan (pinball) we had at work back in 91.

In contrast to a previous post, the game worked fine for me in Opera. And yeah, the 15deg min kinda sucks. Once you let one by you're screwed.

Sabatoge/Paratrooper rocked. Was one of my favorite games for Commodore, Apple and old IBM PC, the apple versions actually had better graphics than the PC.

AND I think this game is pretty well done, too. There was a long pause once, however, that you should perhaps tend to. And don't listen to the naysayers 'cuz they need whistles and bells to stimulate their tiny noggans.... don't understand old school simplicity.

them. Anything that goes above their feet goes right
through. Here's an example of a shot that missed.
(Mortar fire is circled). Other than that, not a bad
little game.

I just got to a point where I'd shot everyone on the screen fairly quickly, and then had a 30 second or one minute pause where there were NO bad guys at all. Now that was dull.

Speed them up a little bit, have some different terrain to deal with, throw turbans on their heads and have the blast radius be a little bit larger and you've got a chance.
