that's why I always join in those office pools, even if it's just for one "share" of the prize. I know I wont win, but for a buck or two I wont have to go nuts and choke a few people in case they do win. it's a wise investment...

I get the feeling here that the people in this 'syndicate' they have that gets into the lottery pools must not be that good of friends.

At my previous company where I worked with about 30-35 people, whenever the lottery hit 20mil+ we'd all get a pool going. Of the regulars, if someone wasn't there that day, we'd all pitch in to cover that person, knowing that they'd want to be in, and of course we'll get our 1.25 back that we all kicked in to cover the people not there.

I hope the people who won the money give a little kick down to their friends in the 'syndicate'.

I've done IT for nursing homes and managed care places before. I would be hard pressed to find a more bitter, nit-picking, evil, annoying workforce.

This is why I don't do lottery at work. No pooling for me. I get my own ticket and that is it. Man sometimes I wonder if winning all that dough is worth it. I have heard more lottery sob stories recently than in any other time. Sheesh, people need to get over it. You snooze you lose.

I won the lotto a couple of years ago.

I still work for 2 reasons:
1. my kids drive me crazy at home

2. I can tell anyone at work to kiss my ass and they know I mean it.
