I think that he should have been allowed to stay because he's trying to improve himself. I say we arrest and deport all the people who aren't doing anything to improve themselves even if they're American citizens. At least some of the immigrants are coming to make lives better for themselves, while much of America sits at home eating cheetos, watching Dr. Phil.

When my dad came over from germany in the 40s it was required to learn english to enter the county.

America has enough economic problems without using monetary resources to support illegals. Instead of giving these people a driver's license, free education, health care, welfare and child support (things some US Citizens do not have), they should actually be punished for breaking the law.

Believe me, I am not unsympathetic. I admire this guy for going to such lengths to improve himself (I wish more US Citizens had this sort of drive), but the ends do not justify the means.

I had to pay fees ($130+) as well as take a written test (after being in this country for nearly sixteen years) before I got naturalized.

If I committed this dude's crime, as an anglo, I'd be labelled some kind of pervert and no one would be saying "would be nice if they gave him citizenship and enrolled him in school!" They'd be saying I should be deported, like the rest of the illegals _should_ be.

Seriously, immigration has become a massive problem in this country. The only reason it's not dealt with is because it's cheap labor. And we all pay for these people, and make concessions to these people, and give them free rides.
