THANK YOU for the individual who paid for this to be in the classifieds.
I am offering this forum to help exchange information.
If you have heard from a loved one and have an update on a particular affected area, please go to the forum and make a post. There are people who have not heard from loved ones yet and do not know what is going on because communication is so poor.
I'll be gathering and posting information that will be helpful and in the event your loved one contacts you, you can pass along important information.
The sections and the instructions on how/what to post are pretty self-explanitory.
If you have any questions, just pop an email to me... angela(at)mystfire.net.
I intend for this to be a long term thing as this will stretch out for months. Posts are limited right now as information is coming. Any information, so long as it is brief and informative, can help a lot.
I have a domain name that I registered today that will forward to the forum.

Feel free to pass it along... (It should be resolving now.)
I had a post on the Katrina Info Exchange Forum from a visitor who asked how we can get online information out to displaced victims who need to look up information online.
Some of the main assistance sites like Red Cross, FEMA and such are getting very lagged in some instances. There are quite a few sites out there that are offering asssitance or information to help victims.
I would like to comprise a listing of people on my site that know of or are offering FREE internet access to displaced victims near the affected area. Internet Cafes, hotels, libraries, etc...
I just got an email from a lady who told me she had a family member call her and they had wanted to know if there were any locations near them that might have available internet access to look up information online. Since she didn't know of any locations, she couldn't tell them.
Second, I am working on a list of links that victims can access online to find housing and other assistance. I will have it available in HTML, DOC and PDF format for printing. This list can be used to post near computers by places who are offering free Internet to victims.
If you can, post any links that will be helpful to this list in the forum or email me at angela(at)mystfire(dot)net.
