It's a text-based game like Zork called Adventure. It dates to the mid 1970's. Zork was first sold in 1980. Adventure doesn't let you kill anything, unlike Zork, and doesn't have grue... although you can fall and kill yourself if the battery goes out.

Adventure now has several versions, including a 500, 1000 and 1500 point version.

Newsflash: People who are born at different times experience different things.

Why do people find it sad that persons of later eras are primarily familiar with the works of their own period. It seems so obvious.

Really, Zork is extremely well known to anyone who was a gamer during its era. But it's not going to be lunchroom conversation for anyone who wasn't alive then, any more than the finer radio plays of the '50s were a hot topic for the '70s generation.
