leperboy69 2005-07-07 05:01:08 AM
Yeah, all the tube is completely shut down. I was going to hop on at King's Cross instead of walking in to werk as usual, but they'd started closing all of the stations by that stage.

twotontim 2005-07-07 05:01:56 AM
(correction) "All emergancy services have been mobilized"

leperboy69 2005-07-07 05:02:20 AM

leperboy69: News isn't saying anything about a bus being blown up.

From Sky News:

According to reports a bus has exploded in central London just minutes after a number of blasts on London's Underground.

"I saw lots of people running up a road and then saw the top of a bus destroyed," one eyewitness told Sky News.

I'll call shenanigans until I hear it on another news service - BBC isn't saying shiat about that yet.

BBC just reported there was a video of a bus exploding

leperboy69 2005-07-07 05:20:33 AM
BBC is now saying that an explosion ripped through a bus as it approached Russell Square. A policeman and several eyewitnesses have apparently confirmed this, but everything is still quite confused.

I take back my shenanigans...

Phishy 2005-07-07 05:20:34 AM
binnster: Wrong end of the UK.

I know. But still, I'd imagine that everything up north would be locked up pretty tight. You got to figure that if some assholes wanted to do anything, why not go down to one of the biggest/most famous cities in the world?

/Wild baseless speculation

borg [TotalFark] 2005-07-07 05:20:46 AM

Bus "clearly blown up by bomb", apparently. "Top deck is completely destroyed, there are blood stains on the front of the BMA building."

Reports now of explosions on 3 buses in central London.
