Was this a satire link (probably posted without the Satire tag)? If not, this entire story doesn't make any sense. In fact, even so, this entire story doesn't make any sense, because 95%+ of the stories here are real, or at least proport to be real (I mean, pravda.com and a few of the other sources used frequently here are about as reliable as the Weekly World News).

So, basically, MSNBC sucks at the Internet as much as ABC radio does.

Several members of the Reno Police Department were protecting Kenny Rogers at a book signing but to keep the location secure, they ripped down all the signs telling people about the book signing. And then at the end, Kenny gets shot by a deranged fan. I couldn't help but think of the episode when I read this.
