Yeah? So I bought it on DVD. You wanna make something of it?

/not the poster

SockMonkeyHolocaust 2004-08-17 08:55:23 AM
This was such a great show, it taught me everything I know about distrusting foreigners.

Reimy
I still have a lot of the books, you wanna make something of it?

DarthAle 2004-08-17 08:59:54 AM
I remember that series ending on a cliffhanger. Quite a nasty one on top of that. Other than that the first season (miniseries) was quite good.

Dish 2004-08-17 09:07:30 AM
I still have memories of the female alien eating that gerbil.

No Catchy Nickname 2004-08-17 09:29:22 AM
V is cool.
VD not so.

Glasgowsfinest [TotalFark] 2004-08-17 09:30:33 AM
Wasn't the guy that played Freddie Krueger in it?
Played a friendly Alien.

Incidentally, David Icke really believes that crap.

DomoFizz3 2004-08-17 11:32:13 AM
Was his name Willie? That's about all I remember of that show, besides the Gerbil eating and those weird eyes.

Eclectic [TotalFark] 2004-08-17 12:26:36 PM
Yep, Robert Englund played Wille, the mentally challenged alien. Got it on DVD, and not ashamed.

Cosmic_Music [TotalFark] 2004-08-17 12:46:26 PM
I loved V. they showed it late at night here the first time round, and the last ten minutes was cut off by a power cut at my local TV station. Public outcry was so great that they had to reshedule some other program so they could show the missing ten minutes.

Marc Singer and Michael Ironside - TV miniseries ubercasting.

optimus_prime 2004-08-17 12:55:54 PM
I have the DVDs.

Now they have to release the television series that cames after.

xkenny13 [TotalFark] 2004-08-17 01:33:33 PM
This is news? I've had the original mini-series on DVD for more than a year now.

CatchrNdRy 2004-08-17 01:39:11 PM
This is even better than watching Judge Harry share a turkey leg with Jack Tripper in It.
hilarious

was also 4 and scared shiatless in 1983.

Eclectic [TotalFark] 2004-08-17 01:59:19 PM
Anybody else used to fantasize about evil Diana's cold-blooded hoo-ha?

Didn't think so :(

klatubaradanikto 2004-08-17 03:33:12 PM
I was just thinking about this stupid-assed show yesterday. How could they be wearing masks over their huge reptile faces and nobody could figure it out?

ator1 2004-08-17 03:34:56 PM
I just found the videotape version of this a couple of weeks ago at a thrift store for $3. yay for me.

macman37 2004-08-17 03:35:26 PM
HA, V was some great stuff

/was it 21 years ago already??? Ahhh, those were the days, cutting lawns for comic book and candy money...

Farked_In_The_Head 2004-08-17 03:35:35 PM
stupid assed? wtf is your name, anyways?

/LOVED the show; bring it back, aging actors and all.
/TV today sucks. Specially "reality" gag TV

BlorfMaster 2004-08-17 03:35:54 PM
The piolet for this show was awsome.

show itself kinda stunk.

But still, you gotta love the invasion of the 80's jacket aliens.

craigzy 2004-08-17 03:35:56 PM
just when i stopped having nightmares...

practicalhippie 2004-08-17 03:36:15 PM
Oh man, I was obsessed with that when I was a kid. Actually had a few of those nightmares moms warn us about.

It must look cheezy now though.

"I still have memories of the female alien eating that gerbil."

It was even scarier when the alien played by Richard Gere ate gerbils using his arse.

Adman12 [TotalFark] 2004-08-17 03:36:49 PM
When that alien guy swallowed the rodent whole, it was all we could talk about in Grade 7 for days.

caliban_02 2004-08-17 03:37:17 PM
What? V was amazingly good. (especially compared to anything else done in the 80's)

If it had been made today, it would be one of the best movies ever. But due to the fact that the 80's had a corrosive influence on every movie made during them, and the special effects were terrible, it will never have the respect it could have had.

sigdiamond2000 [TotalFark] 2004-08-17 03:39:19 PM
Is there anything Michael Ironside cant do?

moops 2004-08-17 03:39:46 PM
here mousey mousey mousey....

wenis 2004-08-17 03:39:54 PM

ITS THE SCARY GERMAN GUY FROM "MONSTER SQUAD"
anyone ever see monster squad?

ScreamingDolai 2004-08-17 03:40:20 PM
This show could do no wrong when I was 11. Unfortunately, watching this as an adult, Jane Badler's (Diana) overacting makes me physically ill, and the horrible puppet-alien-baby looks more like something I would see on PBS children's learning program.

/who cares? Still love this series.

Detour 2004-08-17 03:40:32 PM
Listen to all these Gen X'ers claiming to be historians of the 80's!

Pathetic.

sigdiamond2000 [TotalFark] 2004-08-17 03:41:23 PM

Used to? I farking still fantasize about her.

Seneca Doane 2004-08-17 03:41:27 PM
Oh man... V rocked. Anyone know where I can find bittorrents for the mini-series?

macman37 2004-08-17 03:41:51 PM
sigdiamond2000

Is there anything Michael Ironside cant do?

Outstanding, LOL.

Jmast7 [TotalFark] 2004-08-17 03:42:36 PM
V was fabulous. There's nothing better than Jane Badler eating a small rodent.

Prussian_Roulette 2004-08-17 03:42:54 PM
Everything I need to know about interstellar diplomacy came from this show:

When someone wants to offer you the fruits of their knowledge - shoot down their flying saucer!!

BlorfMaster 2004-08-17 03:43:22 PM
I saw monster squad!

I actually argued over monster squad, cuz I said the little girl did not count as a virgin, because it had to be a sexually mature virgin.

thespindrifter [TotalFark] 2004-08-17 03:43:29 PM
Detour, don't make me break out my original checkered Vans and my Members Only jacket and beat you with them! V will always be the bomb, no matter how cheesy it looks now; hey, what about the original Star wars for cheesiness sake?

Stavr0 2004-08-17 03:43:44 PM
Space (Canadian SciFi station) is running it these days ...
V on Space

Thyomorb 2004-08-17 03:43:58 PM
One of the actors in V was practicing lines with Dominique Dunne when she was killed. She was supposed to be the girl who had the alien baby.

The Onanist [TotalFark] 2004-08-17 03:44:38 PM

I'd hit it...

NappyHead 2004-08-17 03:45:17 PM
This movie scared the shiat outta me when I was younger. I actually believed it was real.

Listen to all these Gen X'ers claiming to be historians of the 80's!

Pathetic.

Ummm. Why is that pathetic? Doesnt being part of what is usually defined as Generation X mean the 80s were your formative years? Im confused. Im not allowed to comment on the 80s?

moops 2004-08-17 03:45:59 PM
anyone remember the War of the Worlds TV series circa. 1989?

It was awesome. To life immortal!

whovian 2004-08-17 03:46:10 PM
moops
LOL. That's what I was going to post.

V: Another good (mini)series that jumped the shark when a child was introduced.

El-Spectre 2004-08-17 03:46:47 PM
Incidently, the TV series (19 episodes) that came after the miniseries just recently came out on DVD, and there's a sequel miniseries due later this year.

Russman 2004-08-17 03:46:52 PM
Monster Squad was great. All we need now is a virgin...

Oberon 2004-08-17 03:47:17 PM
Man I used to have nightmare's about when she had the baby then the 2nd alien baby popped out.

dez 2004-08-17 03:48:52 PM
Best Series Ever!

Seriously I went to V The Convention ;)

FirstDennis 2004-08-17 03:49:12 PM
Not a gerbil but a full grown gunea pig. Ths tremendous lump slid all the way down her neck. AWESOME! One of the best moments in tv history.

thespindrifter [TotalFark] 2004-08-17 03:49:44 PM
My parents wouldn't even let me stay up for the second hour, either on the mini series or the show. Had to catch the details when I got to school the next morning. Damn, I hated curfew!

georgeneuman 2004-08-17 03:49:50 PM
"Listen to all these Gen X'ers claiming to be historians of the 80's! Pathetic."

You're right. It was, after all, YOUR decade, right? What were you, in high school then? So you're the authority on the 80s, aren't you? None of us who were kids then could grasp those heady days quite like you, right, Mr. Memory-Lane?

Get over yourself.

REOIV 2004-08-17 03:49:51 PM
I remember wishing my face peeled off and whenever someone had red eye in a picture from a polaroid etc I would say they are from V or Teenwolf....
